Totally worth it!

Plastidipped my wheels and kidney grill and painted the calipers. Not much but it makes a big difference on the appearance of the car.

I hear the synapse is real loud but apparently there are a lot of issues with this. I think all the vendors on here actually stopped selling them due to all the issues.

I originally wanted the synapse as well.

I don't know the exact details but apparently it fails and the synapse warranty/customer service sucks. There was a few threads on here talking about that.

Wow that sucks..! I read that Tial's are nice but there a lot of knockoffs.. It's such a simple device it's hard to imagine how it could fail under a light load but then again, if it's made cheaply I suppose anything could fail..

Had the R132a recharged today. AC was suckingass. Now running COLD.

Cost me $91 after taxes. Might try doing this myself next time, but have to buy a $65 manifold gauge set, and $120+ vacuum pump. After two-three charges, pays for itself...

I got a manifold kit from Harbor Freight for less than 65 if I recall. Definitely worth it as I've helped a few friends with their ac. Pretty easy once you have all the stuff. Nothing like a freshly charged ac on a hot day! 105+ here in Sacramento this week...grateful for my kit!

Don't you have to vacuum pump the system to ensure no leaks, no moisture, and the proper charge weight? I know high- and low-side pressure readings are important (and the vent temperature obviously is key), but they aren't a definite indication of in-spec refrigerant qty.

So starting on Monday I set about installing an oil cooler using OEM parts. Additionally since I'm at 48.7K I changed my oil with Motul 5W40 LL01, cabin microfilter and replaced the spark plugs and changed out the radiator fluid. It was a pain doing the cooler, but I wanted to do it just because it was possible and to see how handy I am. When I turned on the engine it sounded amazing and seems to pull harder with the new plugs(NGK). No leaks from the filter housing/cooler of oil or coolant. Finished just in time to enjoy the 4th with some beers and grilled meats on the beach!

Started with a light interior, then did a quick clean up of the outside before I decided it was too hot to do much more than that. >__<

On a side note, I need a paint job STAT.

Left her in the hands of my neighbor and good friend while we are on vacation. He is considering a similar purchase and thought I'd give him an extended test drive....
