rear calipers seized?
Just a bit confused, both my rear calipers are not using the full rotor. I have a feeling they are seized but both sides are exactly the same so I’m not too sure if it is normal or not?
I have attached a photo, can someone please advise if this is normal or should I buy a replacement set or calipers? I thoroughly cleaned and lubricated them before hand. Just don’t want to ruin my new pads and rotors |

Your caliper isn't sliding correctly on the pins. If the caliper was seized you'd have heat spots on your rotor. Id say pull your slide pins and clean/lube them again with a different type of brake caliper grease. Also clean and lube where your brake pads set onto the guide cause that doesn't look like its ever been touched from your picture.

Everything look normal. Keep driving. Bmw oem rotors are coated. Take a while for pad to cut through all the paint. No sliding caliper due to its push and pull motion will apply equal pressure on the pad and rotor surface. It’s physically impossible regardless whether pins are lubricated or not.
