I moved here 5+ years ago from Nashville, and love being a mile from the beach. Coldest its been this year was 50deg. F (10 deg. C). Very rough here. Tons of Canadian snowbirds in the winter, and tons that have relocated.

Yes we have deadly snakes, spiders, sharks, even snails (apparently) FFS but in 99.9% of places tourists and residents alike go you will never see any of them let alone get attacked.

I’ve lived here for about 56 years and I have never seen most of the deadly creatures. Might see the very occasional red back (like the black widow), I’ve never seen a Funnel Web or a Eastern Brown snake or anything like them.

Don’t go wandering around in the bush and you’ll be safe.

Imagine getting attacked by a death snail. “Tell us what happened”, “I don’t know it all happened so fast”......

We do have Kangaroos jumping down the streets though

Meh, I've had it, it wasn't horrible. Tasted a little nutty which wasn't my thing, but other people seem not to mind it, and I felt you might think I was going a little hard on Australia there, so I didn't want to put down the beer, because I genuinely do like Australia or at least the people from there. Have never met anyone from there that I thought was an absolute tool. Yet. I'm sure they are there...just haven't met them yet.

Course, now that I think about it, most that I've met have been through work or work circles which means they had to pass the screening tests of global firms...maybe that's why I've had such good experiences. Maybe there is something deeper to you lot calling each other cunts all the time than just good natured fun.
