How much are the M5 replicas? You can get OEM 166s for about $1400 from bmwwheels.com. There was an owner of an e60 that regretted buying the M5 replicas, though he bought his from Lake Shore Wheels.

be carefull with the m5 replicas from miro, as they do not have the same concave nature (or least much less), than the originals. Make sure you find out what the offsets are on the replicas, because if they are too high, the wheels will be recessed. Good luck |

I ordered them
I ordered alt miro wheels. Hoping for the best. I went with the less agressive offset in the back. something like 38 or 40. I didn't want to take any chance of rubbing. Hopefully it will work out the first time. I will post specs and pics when all is said and done. Just for the wheels 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 rear it was 1000 shipped. I talked to 5 different wheel and tire guys about rubbing and so forth with these wheels. I decided on the most conservative offset in the rear, hopefully it isn't to far inside the wheelwell. Well see

So far no rubbing issues and as far as I can tell there will be none. I went with less aggressive offset for the rear. 9 1/2 wide +40 offset in rear. and less agressive in front 8 1/2 wide +38 in front. I was affraid the rear would be to far inside the wheelwell and vise versa with the fronts. But I am very pleased with the outcome. To me it looks very OEM (which is what I wanted) I know I hit my personal balance on the head because each time i look at it I cannot decide if it is too much or not enough.

I ordered from dnjwheels(.com). They quoted 1100 shipped and i paid 1000 shipped and that includes center caps and bolts. I don't know how the wheel was made. You can call around for your own pricing and that info. I just figures a couple e90 users had used them on this forum and I didn't find any complaints, so they must be ok, right? I also don't deal with very few potholes here in utah, at least my common routes. The only web site i found with pricing on the Alt Miro wheel AT-318 was at enduromotorsports.com. I believe the price listed doesn't include centercaps but you can use the ones from you current rims and the bolts also, no big deal i guess. ( I actually used my old bolts because they didn't get shipped at same time as my wheels. I put on the gerneral exclaim uhp because they say they are good in light snow and the tread pattern looked like it would be good in light snow. They have aa grip rating and i couldn't find anybody to say anything bad about them, oh ya and they where only 690 dollars mounted and balanced. So far no regrets.

Ok Now For A Friendly Warning
First, let me state I am not a wheel and tire guy nor any type of authority. Now with that said let me offer a WORD OF WARNING. I have posted a few pictures to show the spacing between the wheel/tire and the shock system on the front of the e92 335i coupe. My tire doesn't protrude any further past the wheel like some I have seen (including the sport Bridgestone potenzas that came on my car) If you get the same FRONT wheel as me (ALT MIRO 8 1/2 wide 19 inch + 38 offset) AND you have a tire that sticks out more than an index fingers width past the wheel, you will most likely rub against the front vertical shock system. THIS I AM PRETTY SURE OF!
NOW FOR SOMETHING I AM NOT SO SURE OF! I would also suggest if you went with 20 inch rims and a tall enough rubber you might rub against the shock system also. Meaning the TOP of the tire might rub. you should be able to see in the pictures provided that there is only about a fat index fingers worth of clearance in its tightest spot. Hopefully this was helpful and not confusing. |

Brandfish,
It looks like you have the General Exclaim UHP on your rims. How do you like em so far? Noise, comfort, etc. I ordered a set of BMW 230's and I've been looking for a set of inexpensive tires. Tire rack has the Generals for less than $145 per tire. They're ranked #1, but I wanted to talk to someone thats driven with them on a 19". If your happy with them, I can't think of a better deal in tires. Any input would be appreciated. BTW, your wheel/tire combo looks bad @ss from the picks. Springer |
