Wheel Wax Test
for more info please visit Wheel Wax I know some of you are as fed up with "infamous" bmw brake dust So i making a little diary how well this stuff works, that way incase you guys feels like you need to invest some money ($11) into this product. Ill be taking a pictures of my wheels every day(at the end of the day) for two weeks to show you how well/poorly this product works! When using the product, I cleaned the car/wheels real well apllied the wheel wax on every exterior part of the rim and allowed to cool for 30min (haze over look) then removed with clean/soft cloth! It says you can rinse with water and buff for good shine, but after doing that to one wheel. I noticed no difference in shine, but the wheels felt real nice and smooth. Decided to not to rinse other wheels. total time took about 1hr 15min - make sure all was covered by wax come back tonight/tomorrow for more pics!!! I know there is no photos now, but i am at work and will provide more later thanks Mike

thanks for doing this! I have never seen so much break dust on a car as i do on my 335. Its rediculous. You should apply wax to half of each wheel to so that you can get a clear picture of how much it helps, if any.
I sure hope the wheel wax works |

Probably a dumb question, but do the Stealerships carry the upgraded pads (like Axis) for a fee above the credit towards OEM pads? So if I opted to, could I pay the difference between the products to obtain the lower brake dust?

I used Mother's FX Synthetic wax on both my car and rims, and the difference is awesome...................my rims used to get lightly dirty every 2-3 days (I have M6 reps that do not get dirty frequently due to it open design).........now after wax they hardly get dirty after 4-5 days............the wax helps to keep dust and brake dust from clinging on to rims and I could just take a cotton cloth and lightly brush it off................rims surfaces just feel slicker after application...............I will re-apply once a month (just a 5-10 min job max - let dry to a haze & wipe off)..........hope that helps everyone...............

I really like this stuff. I use it on my dad's Turbo and 550. The Turbo has fairly soft pads while the 550 has rock hard pads-- but nonetheless, neither has accumulated nearly the same amount of brake dust compared to pre-wheel-wax. It's definitely a good product.

Cool post. I just put wheel wax on my wheels yesterday for the first time. It took me a while, probably a good 45 minutes, to apply one coat of wax to each wheel and take it off. It says to put two coats on the front wheels for best results, but I didn't have enough time yesterday and today its raining so I guess i'll give the fronts another coat when I wash it next week.

We also usually sell a similar wheel wax to people who purchase wheels from us. I mean, the wheel's paint is pretty much the same thiing as the paint on the car itself, so regular wax would work too. However, the paint on the wheels have to go through a lot harsher conditions (heat, brake dust, etc). So it is really preference on what type of wax you use on your wheels. I've noticed with regular wheel wax, I would have to apply it more often. |

i think everyone is mis-understanding the point of wheel wax. its supposed to make cleaning easier, NOT keep your wheels clean for a longer amount of time...it prevents the dust on sticking to the surface of the wheels. even after 2 weeks, the wheel with wheel wax will look the same as the wheel without wheel wax. the only difference is that the wheel with wheel wax can be cleaned using significantly lesser time than the one without
