I was then going to hunt around and find some E39 M sport rims which by memory were 17 x 9.5 (these have a different CB size though)

Going back a few years ago I remember heath started a thread/discussion on this and was going to buy the E39 rims but ended up using the E9X msport rims and mounted a 275 with no worries

In the end it was just too much hassle to get to WSID from newcastle and I didnt really get into it...
Dr J is right. I was going to get the E39 rims which were like 9.5'' but the centrebore if different so was easier to just get 8.5'' E90 Msport rims. Im glad i did, they fit a 275 really well and feel very stable on the track & grip like a mofo, though they do brake traction if you try and brake boost over 2500rpm (ish) off the line, hence why a stall converter would be nice to have.

Not yet. I did shear one off in my G6E Turbo but I was putting out more power and torque than the BMW and the tyres were 265 wide compared to 245. Also the Falcon half shaft was smaller in diameter than the BMW. Having said that there are turbo Falcons with standard half shafts running 10s with no issues.

That's because those aren't drag radials. Those are G-Force T/A KW something something. They're a summer performance tire and amongst other options, rate quite average and are very noisy. Wrong tire for this thread and OP description, but stupid BF Goodrich naming to blame

He's right. Not a soft compound sidewall flexing drag tire. Those are harder firmer daily drivers.

This is what the drag radials look like.

If you buy these, check the manufacture date. You can still get them and there's a few places I've seen them for sale such as the link above, but these have actually been discontinued for a while now.

I just looked online and the KDWs have also been discontinued too apparently :

Sorry, it is my mistake for not looking close enough. Below is the correct drag radial.

I have removed my post with the incorrect photos of the BF Goodrich tyres to avoid any confusion.

15" drag wheels

Hello I'm doing a 15" conversion on my e90 335i, I've put 328i e91 rotors on, 328i e91 calipers on, used my 335i brake pads, and I'm trying to use my oem bracket but I'm running into the issue that it rubs on the wheel, so my question is what bracket to I need to run the 15" conversion? I'd think a 328 bracket but I haven't been able to find any information on that
