***Help Please*** E93 Stock Airbox Removal
Hi All,
I am trying to upgrade the charge pipe and air intake on my 09 335i (E93, N54), and I am having trouble removing the stock airbox. I watched several diy videoes but it seems like the backside of the stock airbox on my car is slightly different. As you can see from my attached picture, the back of the airbox is attached to the mental frame by two bolts (circled in red) but they are not regular bolts. They have round cap with two small edged poking out (one of them is circled in green). Also there ate two rubber pieces underneth. Any advice will be much appreciated! Thanks!!! |

Yes unscrew clamps loose, make sure the brake booster vacuum line is out of the way, get the electrical stuff attached to the airbox and pull airbox up, it may be tight

Spray some WD40 or rubber conditioner on them. Helps them slip off and on
Another reminder to be careful with the booster pipe. It's fragile! |

Actually my booster pipe is worn-out on the bottom edge. I've ordered a new one and will replace it once it arrives. |
