Yet Another e92 (2018) Car Audio thread....

Guys, I have been looking to upgrade my audio for a long while, but everytime I have started digging into this I get kinda overwhelmed with the options. i am not really an audio guy but have done some installed back in the day.

Anyways I have poured over the options for hifi, 676, over and over, yet am still not sure what the best options are. I would like to keep everything under 2k and am waiting for some new stuff to pop up on the classified thread.... Anyways I kinda would like to put a 10 inch sub in the rear, and have use the underseat subs for mid bass, so here are some options, and I was hoping for some input without having to dig through 30 threads to get the info I am wanting....

1. Bavsound, decent plug and play but do you need a sub? AMP+HIGHS/MIDS+under seat SUB is around 2k
2. Musiccar.... Think the lvl 2 is around 2k, no sub
3. Piece together my own set... Mids under the seats, Focal k2? on the front doors, Bimmertech and JL bass amp + bass sub in rear... Think this can be done for roughly between 2 and 2.5k if I am patient enough buying online...

So I was wondering if anyone wanted to chime in on these 3 options, and if its the 3rd some good buying options, as alot of the threads for this are dated and many of the options in old threads cannot even be found online anymore....

Cheers!!!!

If i was replacing the amp right now i would look at the Fisher audiotec
Helix products . They have the DSP/amps and recently released
one targeted at the Hi Fi system called the BMW7 which is plug and
play.

https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...ifiers/up-7bmw
You might have a DSP learning curve.

I would favor BMW plug and play speaker sets made by Gladen, Audio Systems
or if you can fit Morels in the doors and Jehnert xe 200 under seats.
XE 200's
Not earthquake shaking car rattling bass but audiophile mid bass.
With a lot of presence.

There is a speaker list in the audio build thread.

No sub expert but here is the info.

I have a Musicar system now nothing wrong with them they are not
cheap but they are ready to go . Mine was less but I have had it for years
now

wow didnt even know that amp existed, something else to add, do you now how that compares to a PP82DSP? The problem with the XE 200's is they are hard to find for sale in the US, I only see them from Germany and most I see on ebay dont even ship to the US. I was looking at Gladen, but did not see anything for the e92 from the selections I saw..

You did get me looking on ebay and I found these 3, looks like plug in play speaker sets...

Helix
Ampire

MB Quart

I have heard of Helix but not sure how the speakers are, MB Quart is supposed to be a solid speaker. Have never heard of Ampire... Not sure how these would compare to Bavsound though...

Looks like I can pickup a XE-200 or Audison, and the Matchup 7BMW here... The only problem going with the XE-200Audison is I cannot figure out where/what door speakers to complement them in a build including them. I found these Focals, but they do not ship to the US from what I can tell... Also found some etons for the e92, which seem to be pretty solid also.

These with the AMP might be a plug in play solution that allows me to add a sub later...

Can you run a sub off a PP82DSP, from what I have read I do not think so but am not 100% sure....

Morels and Focals, I have had trouble finding the old ones on the older system build lists, and not sure if/what new ones would even fit in the e92 doors.

Best to vist the Helix /Match audiotec fisther website .
I think the 82 dsp has been replaced by the 86 I think
both have two extra dsp channels(maybe one not sure). To run a sub you need
a sub amp.
Helix also has the V8 and DSP 6(maybe those have been upgraded by now)
basically more power and a better dsp.
If you go to the Helix site it describes the specs on them all.

I only saw the BMW7 from match/helix come up on there a few
days ago. pluses are it has more power than the power per channel than
and 86 dsp minues if you want to go active not quite enough channels.
It was designed for the F30 where they have a center channel.
Also the site says it has and extra dsp channel best to verify for yourself.

Hard to find Jehnert Dealers , Unexpected Creations might be
able to put together a package for you (he is the US Jehnert Rep)

https://unexpectedcreations.com/mobile-audio/

He likes the jehnert doors
I have heard mixed review of there 4 inch speakers here.
The XE 200's are great though .

I would go with Helix speakers over Quarts be sure to look at the power ratings.
I believe the quarts were intended for the stock L7 amp.

Bavsound stuff is designed with the stock BMW amp in mind to.

Talk to Don at Unexpected Creations if you want a pro rundown.

Definitely not difficult to find Jehnerts available in the states, right from their site if you scroll down-https://www.jehnert.de/en/distributors/ Been the same name there for 10+ years.

As mentioned above, PP82 has been replaced with the PP86 which is an excellent option and quite common but so is the UP7. Both mate very well with the Jehnert Flatline 3 way set and is within your budget.

In my 2012 135i E82 coupe, I put in:
$420 Audiotec Fischer Match MS 42C-BMW.1 mids and tweeters, and MW 8BMW-D subs
$170 Kicker KEY180.4 amp
$120 Kenwood KAC-M3004 for the subs (150 W x 2 bridged)
$68 Amp harness: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-F10...s/162981689727

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1534261

$300 Joying Android headunit: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1510420
$129 PAC RadioPRO RP4.2-BM21 Smart Harness and dash kit.

= Total around $1,300 with miscellaneous supplies.

I'm very happy with the sound quality now, and the Kicker Key amp made a massive improvement with its Auto EQ and time alignment.

The 8" underseat subs actually sound ok, and I don't feel the need for another subwoofer. It's best to drive them with an amp with a variable LPF because I've been fine tuning them around 120 Hz +/- 10 Hz.

Garage List
2008 BMW E92  [0.00]
Focal sell a plug and play speaker upgrade IFBMW
It includes tweeters, 3,5 inch mids and 8" under seat subs
I fitted these to my 2008 E92 (HiFi) paired up with an audison bit 8.9 DSP
Big sound improvement over stock
Most expensive part will be the audison 8.9
You could find a audison bit 10 going cheap which is the model before the 8.9 (I think)

Should be able to get the lot plus a tune, within your budget
