Cluster Compatibility for Swap?
So what precautions need to be taken when looking for a donor cluster?
I realize that it must be virginized + coded, but are they all physically the same? I'm doing a custom cluster build for my 09' 335d, will anything from 06-11 work regardless of model type? |

Technically, any E9x cluster will work, but if you're putting it into a diesel you're better off using a diesel cluster. You can use a 328i/335i cluster but you'll need to swap over the gauge faces and rescale the tach and recode the oil temp to mpg (335i cluster) and rescale that.

Got an LCI 335i in my 2011 328i.
You want to keep LCI to LCI. Things like forward collision cruise radar, etc will line up that way. You can always Virginize it by sending to coder |
