*Interest* Blackvue DR400G HD Group Buy

I've been offered a group opportunity of the BlackVue DR400G HD In-Car camera. The GB is being offered by the main authorized reseller in the UK and comes with a full 12 month warranty. So no messing around with having to send the thing back to Korea if anything unforeseen does happen to the camera.

The camera retails at £250 in the UK.

Anyway I was speaking to the authorised reseller of BlackVue in the UK and they offered a group buy.

The group buy is as follows:

20 units £199
50 units £169

Personally I think the 50 units price is a cracking deal.

There's enough interest I'll go back and try and beat them down on the price. Although I compared the price to other group buys and I think we'd be doing fairly good on the price.

You guys might let me know if there is any interest in this.

Cheers,

Shane

I might be interested at £169 assuming it is the GPS version.

Have they sorted the current warning light issue when in parking mode on our cars yet?

Here are some links to more information on the BlackVue.

http://www.blackvue.co.kr/en/contents/sub1.asp?idx=7

http://www.blackvuehd.co.uk/BlackVue_DR400G_HD.php

http://www.mp3car.com/mp3car-blog-ta...ng-device.html

http://www.radardetectorforum.org/ca...review-42.html

This should give you more detail on the product. The GB is with TTW Partners Limited - the authorized reseller of BlackVue in the UK. The website I've linked above is their website.

I've only heard good things about the BlackVue DR400. I've seen it in action and I was very impressed. The Android app is a nice touch for any android users, I'm an iphone user though!

I haven't actually got one myself yet but I'll be part of the GB if we get enough numbers to run the GB. I've seen it in action and was very impressed with it.

Pricewise I think the rates being offered are decent, especially the 50 GB price, although getting 50 may be a bit unrealistic. The camera is pricey in comparison to some of the other options on the market. There are various other GB's running on E90post in different countries.

Personally I'm willing to pay a bit of a premium to have something that won't let me down and the unit itself actually looks decent enough so I won't mind having it on the window.

I was looking at investing in one of these recently.

Put me down for 1 if it's the all singing, all dancing model.

Ok to start a list and get an idea of numbers....

I have this running in a number of similar threads on a couple of websites to try and get numbers to make it worthwhile for everyone.

Naturally all have to be confirmed and final pricing confirmed as well.

Might give you a bit of an idea.

It's for safety while driving and also while parked. If you ever have an accident with someone cutting infront of you etc... you have evidence pf the incident so there's no argument with insurers etc...

The camera has a parking mode and detects movement in front of the car so it'll catch anyone damaging it etc.. while you're away from the car.

Fair question mate.

For me I like the security side of things. For one it has a knock sensor so if someone drives into your car whilst it's parked up it automatically start recording giving you a good chance of catching the twat if he/she decides to do a runner. Also being setup as a blackbox unit you can capture someone that may have caused you an incident by dangerous overtaking/cutting you up etc. Reading up on it, it has plenty of good features at a reasonable price.

The other reason I'm interested is it'll be good for recording road trips and track days with mates. Originally I was just going to get a Go-Pro but looking at this it does almost the same job with added security features.

Yea, I would they'll come in handy for track days too.

The quality of the video if takes is actually extremely high.

Paranoia reaches dizzying new heights.

I expect a spate of people breaking into car to steal them.

Or in the case of BMWs, opening them with copied keys and stealing them.

+1. I dont quite get it, I mean even if you are filming and the person in front suddenly brakes and you hit him. You still are at fault regardless of footage. In terms of the security feature of motion detection. Its not as if the camera moves and tracks a possible intruder as he/she walks round the car is it?

Thief: " oh look there is a lovely nice handbag on the rear seat... Ill take that * smashes window *

Blackvue camera: " oh... ahh ha intruder... no ... wait.. excuse me sir can you just approach the front of the car so that I can capture your face........... Please? ... pretty please... with a cherry on top?... give me a break pal... my owner will think im useless "

Thief: " Oh thats a nice looking camera next to the rearview mirror. should I steal it?... No its probably crap "

I asked earlier why this was better than a Go Pro HD and still can not find a reason. At least with one of these you can film track days, road journeys, it can be mounted externally and it can also be used whilst doing other activities without a car.

Each to their own. But this is a group buy thread so why bother your arse throwing a negative comments at it when your not interested in one? I'm sure your time would've been put to better use elsewhere.

Who said I was talking about you!?!

Like you I was looking at a Go-Pro as all I was originally after was something for track days, road trips and paintballing, but I do like the extra features on this and can see a use for it.

But... Been doing more research and I cannot find a video with decent sound quality and I don't think it has an external mic input. Going to have to look into it more before I make a firm decision now. Also Just realized that there is a version 2 to the HD Hero.

Hmmmmm... Descisions
