Yea, last summer I put on some weight cause of work and did some personal training to kick start working out again last fall. That lead me to doing some boot camps at a boxing gym and then to a bootcamp running the ski hill in Lisle. After dropping down from 160 to 143ish lbs by late spring, I lost my motivation to push it. So I signed up for these races to motivate me to just stay at it.

I ran 7 miles (longest run before that was 5 miles) for the first time on Fri night and average a 11:45 mile including warm up and cool down.

haven't run more than a half mile in about 6 years cus of my knee. about two weeks ago I started doing some crazy stretches and got a knee brace now im pumpin 5k's every other day. Last night i did it in 26min with a little warm up jog, started off slow though. Not bad for an out of shape 185 pounder. I might check out this spartan race.

well this spartan is 9 miles I believe. Not saying you can't do it or that you couldnt walk it but just letting you know. The warrior dash I did earlier this year was fun. Advantage short quick in shape guys vs big musceheads for sure.

also, i was pretty beat at the end of the wd....but my strategy was to sprint between obstacles...less rest than I anticipated at obstacles so it kinda backfired. That one had alot of climbs...and 2 killer hills, one with mud and ropes

The hills at the tough mudder is why I am running the ski hills in lisle. Last night I ran 6 miles in 90 mins around the hill which works out to be about 1.7 miles up a 7.5 degree slope (13 gradient on a treadmill) and 1.7 miles down with the rest being level ground. Calves are feeling it today.

ya I saw that, I think by the end of October I shouldn't have a problem, gonna step up to 10k's starting tomorrow and slowly increase that as long as my knee feels ok

Today this car was parked in front of Perillo, talked to the owner, he modded the cats, exhaust, and ecu to 460hp...

Been biking 1 hour on lakefront, running 1Mile, doing a 45 minute gym routine, and swimming 25 laps the last 10 days, eating spinach salads with fruit for lunch, lite dinners and have lost 7 lbs... and feel great...these old 53 year old bones need to be in shape for Yellowstone this weekend, 3 days of hiking in the mountains...
