Question Modifying key fob minimalist thoughts?

Has anyone modified there comfort access key fob. I'm thinking of removing the green board and building a thinner case to keep in my wallet using a 3d printer or making a kydex wallet and adding a spot for the board. With the comfort access I don't need the buttons for anything and it would be nice to not carry keys anymore key-less entry to my house also.
does anyone have a broken key fob 2009 or same family (3 series) I'm sure I could find one on eaby.

I'm in if you can figure this out. I hate having keys in my pocket.

Would love to not have a giant fob of cock in my pocket that can only reach 5 feet away.

Safe to assume this project was abandoned? I'd also like a thinner key
