Do you guys carry collision or comprehensive coverage on your E9X?

Just curious about how many people actually carry collision or comprehensive coverage on their E9X. I wanted to get collision coverage but it's way too expensive right now. My insurance is $105/month without collision, with collision and $1,000 deductible it goes up to $280/month.

Complete waste of money. I see these cars for 4-6k on craigslist. Full coverage costs almost 2k a year vs 500ish a year. If I was paying full coverage I could have bought my car almost twice now.

I had comprehensive on my E90. Switched to both comprehensive and collision this year as the difference with a new insurance provider was only $600/year vs. comprehensive only with the old company. No brainer at that point.

I have 4 cars on my policy and I have both collision and comprehensive on the bimmer, the 2013 odyssey, and the 2017 accord...

When I added the bimmer to my policy my premium went up $50/month so I figure full coverage is worth the $600/year it costs me...

Lol 280 a month?

You either must have hit a lot of cars in the past or your driving record sucks. No one should pay more than $150 for full coverage. Or $50-75 for just liability on any e90

Fully insured 2 vehicles and I pay $700 a year. Why wouldn't I? Not sure why your insurance is so high.

I'm 22, from NYC/LI area. That's why it's so damn high. Got my learner's permit 6 days after my 16th birthday, fully licensed by 18. No accidents ever.

Just sold my e92 (no leaks or mechanical problems) for about $6k. A lot of people here get worked up when you tell them full coverage is rip off, unless you make 80k a year and drive a brand new M4 which means you should reconsider your financial decisions.

If insurance was worth it the insurer would not be offering it.

I have full coverage on my 2013. I feel like I'd be insane not to.

I think it's a question for each individual to consider. Looking on autotrader I see cars similar to mine in the $7-9k range...and full coverage with a $500 deductible costs me $47/month. So for $564/year I feel like its worth it to have my loss covered if something happens to the car. Now...if it was $200/month I might think otherwise...

NJM insurance
Have full coverage with $500 deductible, pay $1100 a year on the 335

My girl has USAA on the 228, same exact policy and pays a little under $1300

Doing the quick math you will pay $2100 for comp and collision with a $1K ded. What year and mileage is your car? What is the value of the car ? For example if you car is worth $6K buying comp and collision within 3 years you would have paid for the car in itself. Can you afford another car if you had a total loss if you didn't have this coverage? Can you afford the 1K ded? Basically if you do not purchase the coverage you are self insuring your own car in case you have a total loss. As an option you might want to consider getting a price quote for comp (theft) only . As for collision hope you are not at fault for the accident. you can always pursue a claim with the other parties insurance carrier.

Unfortunately, due to your age your insurance cost is very expensive. Good luck!

I have comprehensive and uninsured motorist. Never had collision on any of my vehicles, I try to just drive responsibly and never had any at fault accidents, knock on wood. I did the math, and for what my vehicles are worth, collision would be pointless anyway considering what I would pay to have it, and what they would give me. I also have dash cams in all cars.

Comprehensive makes sense to have because of all the deer I see nearly every day, as well as the idiots who like bashing windows on nice cars just because.

I carry both Collision and Comprehensive.

Comprehensive seems like a no brainer as it's $71 for 6 months. Citing personal experience, I will always carry it.

As for collision, I'd rather not share as I find it to be INCREDIBLY high. My record is imperfect, but Geico quoted me half of what I'm paying Progressive now...

Anecdotes aside, I think collision is worth it as my car has a decent value for private sales (according to kbb).

I have the full set. Basic mandatory insurance is €150 per year and the additional coverage for hitting animals, driving off road, vandalism, parking lot damage, windshield etc including loaner car for breakdowns €500 per year.

Friend got his 5er keyed pretty bad and new paint job was €4k paid by insurance company. I've had my BMW's tires slashed twice

And since even this 2006 e92 still goes for about €15k I don't feel too bad paying that. For a cheap ecobox I would have only the basic

Hmm I thought hitting a deer is covered under Collision and not comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive insurance is a coverage that helps pay to replace or repair your vehicle if it's stolen or damaged in an incident that's not a collision. Comprehensive typically covers damage from fire, vandalism or falling objects (like a tree or hail).
