Light/Plug Socket Surrounds - where from??

I've searched and searched the internet for these but just cannot find what I need. Can anyone help???

I'm replacing some plug sockets & light switches but half of our house has these 'black plastic surrounds' that the sockets/switches sit in and half hasn't. It's going to be difficult to remove the exisitng surrounds without making a right mess of the wallpaper/paint behind them so am trying to fit them to the rest of the house but cannot find them anywhere.

To be more specific, these are similar to a 'finger-plate' for a light switch (i.e. sits behind the switch) but you only get to see a thin black surround (outline almost) and the switch sits within a recessed bit of the surround.

I'm not really sure what purpose these perform but I'm a little stuck as removing the existing ones will make a right mess.

Sorry, forgot to take a photo this morning to show what I'm on about, but will do if people don't quite understand what I'm looking for...

Anyone know where I can get these buggers from???

Need a pic. Roger. Clear finger plate surrounds are readily available, but I'm not sure these are what you are talking about.

+1 for pics Roger.... is it not a B&Q type of thing....?

Otherwise, you could get them made from black plastic sheet maybe?

Can't believe 'we're in for pics' (where is Sunny these days), over some light socket surrounds.

Can a Friday night get any more exciting

Helen, you've missunderstood, I've got the plug socket, it's the black 'frame' I'm after. See pic1. Pic2 is once fitted.

Paul, thanks for the heads-up, but that looks like a whole lot of faff, might just do without. I've actually nicked one from a bedroom we don't use which still needs decorating so our new and improved 'master' bedroom is now complete . Just need the new bed to arrive on Monday and off we go (as they say... )

"Stop dreaming", noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, that's the only time I get a shag these days .

Definately not a 'bespoke' thing, I've seen them before, not for a while though, just surprise a) I can't locate them and b) it appears it's only me who knows what they are!!!

Wow, holly-random-old-thread-ressurection!!!

No, never found these, in fact was only talking to my wife the other day as we still could do with some. We've just redone two bedrooms and need these to match the rest of the house. My plumber chap is on the lookout for some. Can't beleive they're so hard to get hold of.

The random thread of the week award can be a handed to me I think

This is literally a post for 'mackyd21' who signed up to the forum purely because he came across my thread after a Google search. Anyway, as he posted only once, I can't PM him, so thought I'd post here in case he subscribed...

I'm FINALLY managed to track down these socket surrounds and here are the details -:

This place manufaturers them - http://www.scolmore.com/ and this lady has been very helpful Jayne@scolmore.com

Here's the order references -:

SP011 1 gang black gasket
SP012 2 gang black gasket

I'm going to order some from -:

WILMSLOW ELECTRICALSUPPLIES
Unit 15 Millbank House
Riverside Business Park
Wilmslow
SK9 1BJ
Tel: 01625 520 400

and also available from City Electrical Factors / TN Robinsons

Hilariously, after 3 years of searching, I spotted what I was after at my parents house who has the same surrounds and happened to have an unopened box so could contact the manufacturer directly
