Audio streaming help
Hi All,
I’m new to the forum, so appreciate the knowledge shared here already. I have just picked up a 2013 330d convertible, here in Germany (point 1, manual is in German and I’m not fluent unfortunately). I managed to get my phone connected via Bluetooth (Apple iPhone 7) and can get calls coming in fine over the speaker system. If I connect my phone via USB to the connector in the glove box, or to the connector in the armrest, I get power and the phone starts charging. What I cannot figure out is how to get audio streaming from Spotify to run. When I connect the phone, the app shows that music is playing, but nothing comes out of the speakers. Volume on the radio is up and on the phone is up. The Bluetooth configuration on the car screen shows that audio transfer is enabled. The car has the cradle in the armrest for my phone. When I plug in there, same effect, but the audio from Spotify plays from my phone speakers and not from the car; phone is getting power and charging here as well. in terms of audio related options: S609A Navigation System Professional S620A Voice Control S633A Preparation, Mobile Phone, Business S676A HiFi Speaker System S6FLA USB/Audio Interface S6NFA Music Interface for Smartphone S6NRA Apps S6VCA Control for Combox So the question is: With this equipment, should I be able to stream audio? Is something broken, or do I need new hardware? Any help is appreciated - be it reference to other materials or direct advice. Many thanks and hope to be able to return the favor. ExpatLife |

I have a pre-lci with ccc idrive, logic 7 and usb/aux input.
The USB is only for usb drives with music on them, cannot stream audio over them with a phone, for that you have to use the aux input. If you have a combox on cic i believe you can pair your phone to it via bluetooth and stream music that way. |

You might have to get a separate part that plugs into the audio input to allow you to receive audio via Bluetooth to your phone.

I use one of these...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/TUNAI-Firef.../dp/B01HXXJPWK It's a perfect fit for the USB and aux input in the armrest. Get into the car, auto connects with my phone, select aux in, and select music on phone and press play, sorted. BTW: Welcome to the forum, I don't post much on here but the info you can get/need is brilliant |
