I'm finally done. Reassembly took 3-4 hours as I repositioned the antennae, fitted the reverse camera input, tweaked the HVAC mount, cleaned all the trim pieces and taped various areas so as not to scratch anything.

Very happy with the final result!

The makeover continues ...

I don't think the silver trim works with it personally, the strips aren't too bad but the centre console part looks a little off, black would be better.

Got to say it looks fantastic though!

I'm sure it's not to everyone's taste but for me, it's exactly what I wanted. Bright and a bit retro . Black carbon in place of the silver would also look good and give it a more sporty look.

I admire your talent and results so far. It looks beautifully crafted. Watching the evolution of your interior has been highly enjoyable and I learned quite a bit along the way.

Today I fitted some aluminium brake pedals from Ebay. They look like screw in types but they are actually slide on pads. No drilling required.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/262953749237

Fitting these I discovered that RHD vehicles have smaller pedals than LHD ones (who knows why) so I had to use some glue (sikaflex 227) as well.

I love the seats and the doors.

Personally, I would have left the dash black and I wouldn't have painted the speaker covers. But, I am glad you have it the way you like it.

The silver works here - it's a nice break from the black to red. Carbon would look good but I don't think it's necessary.

Amazing work

What a mammoth task and yet you did it with such care and patience..not to mention recording it with pics along the way!

Agree with most of the posters that the dash and speakers were a little too far, as the red becomes too intense (for my taste). But of course, it's your car!

Best wishes from a fellow Aussie, and let us know how the colour holds up after some months and years

By the way, how did the leather smell and feel after the colour?

Does the steering wheel buttons works on the audio? I assume not?

The leather has no smell, basically just like dakota leather.

The feel is essentially the same as it was originally. Actually I think it's a bit softer after all of the oiling.
One area, the drivers seat (on the most worn section) I gave extra coats and that feels a little more like vinyl. Sanding it back a little helped to improve it.

Today I decided to restore my side markers which had yellowed over the years.

I cut and polished them using car polish and my dremel (with a felt attachment).
The worn black edges I taped and resprayed with matt plasticote. A very easy restoration.

Amazing work with the interior!

I noticed your climate control panel sticks out a bit. Have you tried trimming the tabs behind it as explained in this post:

When I first pushed the unit back into place, the bottom (the part by the HVAC controls) would not go all the way back into place, it was sticking out maybe 1/8". I started looking around and it appears the HVAC controls were a little too deep and they were hitting part of the dash behind them, keeping the bottom from going all the way back and being flush. Specifically this little ear inside the dash where to the oem radio bracket mounts was in the way.

Closer inspection revealed that the part was upholstered with foam and vinyl, AND had a plastic nub on it. Both of these factors added more than 1/8" of thickness to the ear and was keeping the dynavin from going all the way in. So I simply trimmed the upholstery and foam off with a utility knife.

Then I snipped off the plastic nub with some diagonal cutters and cleaned it up with the utility knife.

As you can see the ear is still there, its just doesnt have all the "stuff" on it getting in the way

Did the same on the left side and I was then able to slide everything all the way back into the dash and the fit was great

The Dynavin is a different fitment to the Eonon as it has less height due to not having a disc drive. I don't think removing the tabs will make any difference with the Eonon.

Love the effort and creativity. But that is a tonne of M badges in your interior, it just reeks of insecurity.

12 months have now passed since I completed the seats so as promised here's an update on how it's holding up.

This is my daily driver so the driver's seat gets a great deal of use, the passenger seat occasional use and the back seats very little use.
Maintenance has been the occasional quick clean with Leatherique pristine clean.

The leatherique dye has been very durable. A little bit of shine bulds up every few months on high wear areas but a clean restores the normal look.
A couple of areas where there are deep creases, cracks and high wear show little bit of the black base color but this will be easy to touchup with some fresh dye.
Everywhere else is just like it was a year ago.

To summarize, Leatherique is a very good product which I highly recommend.

On a side note, I reinstalled the original head-unit as I decided that I prefer the minimalist look.

Awesome job on the seats!

What do you mean? It actually works quite well. I wouldn't touch the CCC crap but CIC or NBT will be the best bet.

Great work op!!

I think black trim would look a lot nicer with the red, and I just cant get behind the speakers, they remind me of the early 2000's
