2011 335i N55 long crank starts and WOT hesitation.

I've been trying to troubleshoot a issue I'm having but I'm lost and don't want to throw a HPFP at it just guessing.

A little background, it's a 2011 335i with a N55 engine. Manufactured 04/2010 with JB4, E85 harness and PPK flash. I've never put any E85 in it tho.

I'm getting 5-6 second start times in the morning and 3-5 starts with warm weather or warm engine starts. I'm also getting hesitation/sputtering at WOT around 4K rpm. This is with JB4 map 0, 1, or 5.

I would greatly appreciate any help or feedback.

Thank you in advance.

The only faults I have are from the tuner and burger tuning says those are standard with the JB4.

I had long cranks for 8 months, no codes. Finally got a HPFP code one day. Replaced it and no longer have long cranks.

I've been at war with BMWNA. I emailed the CEO, exec of customer relations, and exec of customer experience. They were no help and pretty much got a f^<k you. They don't want to extend my HPFP warranty.

Yes that's pretty well known. N55s didn't get the extended warranty even though it's the same part. Just get the $400 one from ECS and diy.

Buy it from FCP Euro and you'll never have to buy one again. Lifetime warranty ftw.

No mention of mileage. Have the coils ever been changed? If not and over 50 K on them, and the plugs have over 10 K, change them all, then see what happens.

how difficult is it to change the HPFP compared the spark plugs?

there has to be a catch. i don't believe BMW parts can be warrantied for life, like how certain duralast parts are sold as lifetime form autozone, etc.

It's harder than spark plugs, but easier than a valve cover gasket. Will take 1-2 hours. There are several DIYs around. FCP Euro guarantees life time warranty for everything, including consumable/wear items. Just take a look at the site.

Turned out to be the fuel pump. My shop checked the cylinders for leaky injectors and changed the plugs. All in all $850 for a fuel pump, spark plugs and diagnostic.

Hi i have a feeling that my hpfp is on its way out although it could be something else. When just cruising, i get this very slight hiccup i guess. Like I am holding a constant RPM but it feels like the car either speeds up or slows down just a tad bit. Could be throttle too i guess?

Thanks
