first, thanks for the video! I was hoping to see you do the fill with temperature etc. which brings me to my question.
is there any reason for me to not use Carly transmission temp parameter to monitor for the purpose of filling the fluid? plan to do tomorrow. I have ISTAD and tool32 at my disposal as well. my concern is how to properly fill the trans. only doing filter change. |

The latest thought is to fill with what you had dumped. A few people had experienced filling less than what had come out. Seems like factory slightly overfills.

School of thought there being that they fill trans only and account for this extra to distribute into the cooler lines and cooler volume itself. |

All we really need is a few people to measure the amount out and come to an average and fill and forget these transmissions are the same so they have to hold the same amount.. Is there a way to fill other than the fill hole? Like a trans line????? I will be changing mine soon probably in December when I take my end of year vacation from work |

Make sure you do not have any light errors.
Hook up your car to a decent power supply. in ISTA: -go to Operations; -Read out Vehicle Data - Complete Vehicle Identification -Vehicle Management -Service Function -Powertrain -Transmission Control -Adjustment or can do Oil Change Function -Display and Reset Adaptation Values -Perform ABL function |

so let's just say I needed more zf fluid, and may not be able to find any locally. my only option would be to order from the East coast or, can I get some from BMW? is it the same? I used the zf that comes in the kit from FCP.

The kit comes with 6L and that's all you need unless you're dropping the valve body to do the adapter and sleeves as well, then you need 7-8L?

Please don't run with this as it is only a notional thought and needs to be scrutinized. NON BMW: Don't read if you don't care. I did use this technique on my Dodge truck and it worked great. I had ~31L of fluid to dispose of when I was finished with that job. At least it was ATF+4 instead of Lifeguard 6 ($6 per quart vs $20 per liter). I upgraded trans pan to aluminum one with about 4 more quarts of capacity AND a nice drain plug. Dodges don't come with a drain plug. |

9.5 as this page shows http://www.furitech.com.au/index.php...-introduction/
He might have been mistaken with the top fluid case quantities which show 20,etc |
