Yeah what ever happened to sellers posting the advertised price for everyone one to see. Why all the secrecy?

You guys are funny, its a replica GruppeM intake. Its going to have "similar" form and function but without the high price tag. Yes quality wont be as good and fitment may be a bit off (but perhaps not because that dude installed it already).
I had a Simota replica GruppeM intake on my E46 330 and it looked the same, had its own filter and for an NA engine an intake is really irrelevant without full catback, headers, software, etc. The same applies to a turbo car that doesn't have supporting modifications for the intake to even be needed. The stock airbox has plenty of flow with a drop in filter alone and is as "cold air" as most people will ever need. A new product is never going to have much "info" especially a replica like this, its sort of the wait and see type deal. What good does it do for him to say: "I dont have it" every time someone ask for a dyno, clearly if he had one he would've already posted so stop asking and saying it makes him lose credibility blah blah, again if he had it it would already be up, either that or it sucks, if it sucks dont buy it. But for people that like the look and know its styled off one that "is proven" they may buy it, if you dont, great keep your $ and buy a GruppeM simple as that. Everyone always expects WAY too much from replicas. Linea Corsas were unknown until a few people started buying them and now they are as common as Style 189s. |

I know what you're trying to say but the issue is that once we asked for results, the thread died.
Also, I honestly don't know if the gruppeM intake is all that. I have a feeling that a regular DCI would provide better reults than a gruppeM, but I would love to see it tested out.

Ya I mean intakes really are more bling/sound then they are performance, that's why I think people are being way too pushy about numbers, ya he doesn't have it but he should but like I said he doesn't have it he's not gonna say over and over "i dont have it" just wait, its still a new product. Thats like going to Steve Jobs right now and saying "damnit give me one to play with!!!!" not gonna happen lol. I definitely agree with you that even the "name brand" stuff is iffy as far as performance goes, dyno can be fudged so everything is really with a grain of sand.

On EBay. Not sure if it is legit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SIMOT...ts_Accessories Tempted to buy then do a before and after dyno run. I work at Evolution Motorsports here in AZ so that would be possible. |

I'd rather make my own Mr.5 intake and have some shop make it pretty for me. the GruppM and Simota filters look kinda small to me. but look great.

Anyone try a dyno with the cover off? is that safe to do with the cone the way it is?? Seems like you'd get a little woosh... and some more air. And all the CF ....Bling Bling..

The filter looks too small for what is needed on this motor.
