What power/torque levels did you feel this was a good addition at? It seems like fixing the diff to the rear subframe eliminates the point of diff bushings

Holy thread revival. I was dp and tune only when I had this put on. Personally I think it made the car feel tighter immediately. Stock suspension is garbage and this helped a bit.

haha sometimes they work and the OP is still active! Thanks for your response. After I finish installing my meth and JB4 I'm thinking this may be a good thing to install

Here's one. I haven't seen guys on this forum talking about lock down kits in a while. When people did this one, I don't remember anyone complaining about the results. It's a lot more involved than the simple bracket that's already been suggested.

https://www.bmwcca.org/forum/index.p...down-diy.9869/

Not cheap, but rarely are things on this car that really work when talking about increasing HP and the words "after market"!!!!

I 100 percent support local reputable companies, however I bought a replica defiv brace for around 100$ 2 years ago, and have never had any issues or wheelhop

Bought a BMS differential lockdown and so far it's been great. The car feels more planted. Just keep in mind you'll most likely have to drill holes in the car that match with the brace.

5 minute install and crazy great improvement with traction and handling. No noticeable NVH either.

i wouldnt call it a CRAZY GREAT improvement

i will say it makes the rear end a bit more stable, when the rear end goes out, it just takes a bit less time to bring it back in

$100 seems a small price to pay for actual improvement in a BMW. So many Dinan snobs think they need to spend exponentially more to properly mod a car (eg $108 for Dinan upper shock mounts vs $12 for the Monroe mounts) properly.

also make sure you occasionally check the bolts on the diff as they have been known to loosen over time

i do agree with your comment.. 100$ is nothing if it helps you get a bit more traction but its definitely not a CRAZY improvement, my car is still all over the place in 2nd gear

This kit worked great in my case, no more fish-tailing when on/off WOT...

I run the BMS one on all our E chassis cars. Works nicely for the price. I like that it's one piece with no welds.

I love mine. It completely cured my wheel hop issues. Before, I cringed every time I hit it in 1st gear. I think 1/20 times it would spin nicely. Now it spins nice every time. I wanted to get it before I broke something and really regretted it. I got the one with the adjustable link.

Same. I'm changing out my differential bushings to PowerFlex polyurethane and wondering if I should have just got the BMS bracket for $99 instead. Or if I should do the bushings and cough up the extra $99 and do the BMS bracket?

Supposedly I've heard if upgraded rsfb then the bracket adds nvh. Is this true any first hand exp. Would anyone recommend strip of rubber etc to prevent diff whine or anything?
