+1 for Meguiar's Endurance.
Its one of those products that you use for the first time and just immediately regret not finding it earlier than you did.

I am a big fan of water-based tire dressings instead of more common silicone-based tire dressings. A silicone-based dressing will generally leave a shinier look that lasts considerably longer, but they really gunk up the tire and can have other negative effects over time. A water-based dressing will actually soak into the sidewall helping to condition the rubber and reducing the chances of slinging off.
I am currently using Meguiar's Hyper Dressing diluted 1:1 with water. It gives a nice, somewhat shiny finish that doesn't look too synthetic or over the top to me. The only downside is that it is only available in gallon size containers which may take the average car owner forever to use up. Another great option that is available in smaller sizes is CarPro PERL. When used neat, it will leave a dark finish that has some shine to it. Since it is water-based you can dilute it with water to reduce shine if that suits your style better. Product Review: CarPro PERL by Zach McGovern Hope that helps! 2 Schools of thought.....kinda like the Wax/Seal vs Coat, If you like to top up the look of your tires every time you wash then I agree with Zach on products he recommended and would like to add Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel to that list.....but there are also tire coatings out there, one of my favorites to date is Black Pearl Trim and Tire Armour, rolls on with a foam roller, and Iv'e 2.5 to 3 months of that "just applied" look. They have a few options in terms of finish, glossy for the wet look, matte for the clean new tire look. If you like a set and forget solution (for awhile at least) check em out.

Zach McGovern Former Pro Detailer Detailed Image Ask-A-Pro Blog Author[/QUOTE] +1 for Meguair's Hyper dressing, and it doesn't get all over your fenders after driving off. Apply more layers as you feel necessary, and lasts a lifetime! |

Is there much in the way of sling with the gels? Made a huge mistake going through a car wash. Result was over $600 in damage to my pint and a brown oil all over my wheels and tires that was slung all over the sides of my car.

Silicone based dressings can be more prone to slinging, however any dressing can sling when applied too heavily or improperly. I wrote an article on this very topic a while ago.

I wish they could get a tire coating in their line up.
I am still working off my Turtle wax Endura shine stock. With proper cleaning of the tire I am sure the Turtle Wax Black Endure TRIM coating would out perform any brand of silicone tire juice marinade. |

I Like Cover All. I believe its solvent based but goes on thin and easy to apply. No slinging issues at all but i normally dont drive for hours after a wash.

+1 for Meguiars -I Use super degreaser to remove bloom and apply hyper dressing. I use a soft brush and let it dwell. Lasts longer than most products, and it can be used on many many surfaces interior & exterior.

I like Griot's Garage Black Shine High Gloss Tire Gel.
It seems to stay on longer than anything else I've tried so far. |
