One thing about installing these floor mat anchors - make sure you install then so that the mat sits as far back as possible. My dealer installed mine so that the mat wasn't pushed all the way back and every time I stepped on the clutch and released it, the clutch pedal would catch the front edge of the floor mat. it was extremely annoying.

It was an easy fix... just had to re-install those anchors about 1" rearward. Unfortunately, I now have 2 extra holes on the front floorboards thanks to the dealer's crappy initial install job.

My all weather mats stay put for the most part, but do shift up marginally on occasion (my passengers more so than mine, I assume from digging into the footwell on the occasional daredevil maneuver). I don't relish the idea of cutting a hole in my carpet let alone screwing something into it, but it IS tempting!

It's holding up great, what's the need for this? (as a retrofit)

My velcro peeled off the mat, but the mat is still in good condition otherwise. This is exactly what I needed.

As i scrolled down I knew you were going to say they were vw/audi. Great design, floormats will stay put with those things.

I hope to find something on the market for those of us that have aftermarket mats and don't have anchor holes yet have slipping mats.

My Dinan mats have those little grippy things on the back but the driver side just keeps creeping up by the dead pedal... so annoying.

My driver's side mat has been in the trunk for over a year. Wish I saw this sooner. I guess I can put it back in place now...

How deep do you make the hole? Use a drill?

The anchor will screw in. No drill
