Hi. I have 2008 e90 with middle range HI-FI system(2 midranges and 2 tweeters in front doors, underseat subs and 2 midranges on rear shelf). I found everywhere that original amp on this system is in the left part of the trunk but on my car there is nothing and doesnt seem like it ever was. All my speakers are original bmw. Music plays normally but it doesnt have clear sound. Do anyone know where the amp coudl be placed?

Are you sure which system you have ? The 2010 to 2011.5 car had no amp
they discontinued Hi Fi for a year and half interval in the US.

The amp location for almost all the cars is behind the US driver side wheel well .
Euro cars may be different I don't know.

That’s odd. Are you in the US? Hifi was standard in ‘08.

Are you sure you’re looking in the right spot? It’s underneath the cd changer area in the left of the trunk.

Maybe it’s been relocated to the middle of the trunk, underneath the carpet?

I think it was only standard on 335's, 328's could have come with hifi. He's in Malaysia though.

Very odd on there being no amp though, I agree, probably in the middle or possibly passenger side?

Or the previous owner added tweeters to the abysmal base system to try to make things a little better.

OP run your VIN in a BMW vin decoder to see if you possibly have base audio. I suspect someone might've added tweeters.

Hi Fi was only Standard in US cars from 06 to 09 and 2011.5 on .
Rest of World gets the Base System or pays for Hi Fi and Logic 7.

Run Mdecoder.com on the Vin .
Also Euro cars may not have the same options by country.
BMW was not a luxury car in every part of the World .
There are some real strippers out there without things
like cruise control and some have cloth seats.
