Weird trumpetting noise

I have a 2009 335i m/t and im hearing a really weird noise under WOT. It almost sounds like a deflating balloon/an elephant trumpeting and its driving me nuts. I do have a vrsf cp and BOV with an upgraded 7in fmic from vrsf as well as jb4 stage1 on the car currently.

Any help with where this noise may be coming from would be really helpful Thanks!

Typically the trumpet sound is a boost leak. Gotta check all the clamps on the intercooler, charge pipe etc. If you are stuck a leak or smoke test will help you figure out what needs tightening or replacing

Gotcha so I guess that’s probably why I’m way under target boost. During my 3rd gear pull I was almost off by 3-5 psi. Also my IAT was at like 136 even thought the outside temp was like 77 degrees. Would a boost leak explain the high iat values

Yes, it could affect IAT's because of inefficiency.

It's a boost leak. You might not see it from just visual inspection because some of them happen at a certain PSI.
