Multiple DME failures - need help

'07 335i N54 with FMIC, VRSF downpipes, DP fix and MHD tune. Was running very well at track.

Last month, car cranked fine but then would not start. Could not see MSD80 DME (can see all other modules) and sent it off for repair with CAS3 and key fob.

Only previous code was a 2DED - DME, power management; closed circuit current violation.

DME showed corrupted software which was replaced and updated. No apparent hardware problems (e.g., Mosfets). Car started fine for half dozen starts but had IBS code, and then would crank but not start, multiple dash lights, wipers could not be turned off, and could not see DME again.

Checked fuses, DME relay, ground strap, and looked for any water damage in ECU box and battery compartment - all seems fine.

Got a MSD81 and had MSD80 data transferred. Installed updated DME with same result. Car started fine for half dozen starts, and then would not start but cranked strong. Can't see DME.

Had MSD81 restored and plan to remove DPFix, replace IBS cable/sensor and try again. All accessories (e.g., cameras and IPOD in glove box) removed.

Anyone have any ideas before I try install again?

some component(injector, ignition coil, sensor, actuator) which connected to DME have shortcircuit or disconnected or weak ground and their ground goes thru dme

Battery compartment soaked

Decided to swap battery with spare and found evidence of water damage and corroded cables. Replaced damaged cables and IBS and was able to start car with updated DME.

Now looking for source of water - forums say look at gas cap gasket, rear light gasket, and moon roof drain hoses. Also found displaced gasket around trunk opening and corrected this.

all wiring in trunk and in body do not connected to engine harness
engine ECU box have it's own cable going from battery
so you have to check if water came to engine ECU box or ignitiod coil grounds fully attached to engine
