My car is currently just under 50k miles - maybe I have to decide if I want to go this route and order it now if I want to be ready to do a suspension refresh around 60k. It's a shame Bilstein seems to continue to have these supply problems.

Looks like they have gone up in price a little already. Still seems reasonable though!

Don't understand how they can go up in price when they are not even available yet. They have been pushed to 05/01 now and will probably be pushed again. Wanted to buy these 2 months ago.

lol @ the price gouging before they're even made available. ECS Tuning seems to have removed them altogether.

At this point I don't see why anyone should be buying these over the tried and true (and longer lasting) BCs.

Because Bilstein. Made in Germany. Tried and true mono tube gas shock.

In the past - sure. Their quality control has been abysmal for the last few years. I know shops who've had to process warranty claims for premature failures more often than not, to the point where one retailer refuses to sell aftermarket Bilstein products now.

The problem is further exacerbated by supply issues. Some B8 shocks or PSSx coilovers have been on backorder for about 4 years.

Imagine needing to do a warranty claim in 10k miles only to be more inconvenienced because a replacement isn't available.

Fuck that.

BCs while not outright on the same level of sheer performance as German brands have had amazing longevity. That alone makes them the clear cut winner given Bilstein's shitshow since 2016.

So what would be a good coilover for a daily. I want to get rid of a little wheel gap and lose the squat and dive. Suspension has 125k on it and pretty sure it is original as it feels unpredictable.

I love the way my F31 with the adaptive suspension rides. If i could find something similar for the E92 (Non adaptive of course) i would get it. I dont want a harsh or bouncy ride.

Not looking to autocross or race. Maybe a little red light to red light.

I spoke with Bilstein yesterday about some shock/strut options for replacement of my H&R coilovers and they mentioned this kit is available. However I wasn't inquiring directly about the B14 kit so I'm not sure if he actually meant available to ship or not.

I did ask about springs rates for the B14 kit though, if anyone is wondering

Front - 400
Rear - 629

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. I would have waited out a bit. I paid about $1400 for a new set of coilovers because I didn't wait to wait for rebuilds of my current set. $751 sounds nice

I have a order placed for a set b14s also. I have a order through summit (the cheapest currently) and ecs (my preferred and they price matched summit). Summit notes may right now, however ecs changed from May to mid July. I also spoke with bilstien America and the representative noted they were dated to be made may 1-5. With the corona outbreak the factory has slowed down. Nothing that it will be at least 6 weeks pushed back, plus possibly 6 weeks to complete and ship. And that is based on the low demand (since there is a very small market of 10 year old xdrives that want to be lowered)

Bilstein USA told me these would be available last May 2019 when I asked early last year...you can order from Europe, but you won't get the lifetime warranty.

I have an active order that will be received by ecs this coming Thursday. Additionally I called bilstien and they noted that there are more being sent out of the factory then ordered, so I would assume there is a short supply but extras will be available

Side note, does anyone have any idea if the front shocks have adjusted mounts for end links. With bilstien's rep I would think so, however being coil overs hard to do properly. I went with the lather and have 330-345 mm end links coming. Stock are 11.5 in (292.1 mm) so I assume these should be good for about and a half of drop.

Any luck? The date just keeps getting pushed back on their website.

Talked with them today they said they have an Bilstein shipment in being unpacked and my order should be on it, shipping out today or tomorrow. However my date is also July 30th. They said is automatic pushes dates back.
