Is e90 to f30 cosmetic only conversion relatively simple?? Got an opportunity...
I just picked up a 2007 e90 328xi. Traded a lawn tractor for it. Needed quite a few things of which I have already addressed.. new windshield, new valve cover gasket, new brakes and rotors, new tires, new wheels, new grille. Last minor items would be to replace the driver side seat and at minimum a rear bumper.
I found a guy on Craigslist selling f30 bumper front and rear and side skirts for $300. My question is... how easy would these pieces bolt on? Would it be pretty tough? Do I need new fenders, hood, etc to make it work or would I simply need a new grille, headlights? I do have experience doing retro fits... I have a 2017 f150 I've done a lot of conversions on and I did the above work to this car myself... I'm by no means a mechanic but I can get around a tool box is what I'm getting at. Any insight would be appreciated! |

This would definitely be difficult. Just looking at the front of the car for a quick example: The headlights on the F30 connect to the grill and the infamous "hood line" as well. The E90 does not have those features. The kidney grills and the headlights will be different. Headlight washer and tow hook might not line up exactly to the hole on the bumper either.
I have no doubt that it is possible with enough time and money, but my personal opinion is that it is not worthwhile.

Thanks for all the fast replies guys! They are indeed OEM... I would actually prefer an aftermarket version to be honest. I need a new rear bumper anyway so I figure why not try and be different and stand out a bit.
For $300 it could be worth the hassle to try and figure it out but a few valid points have certainly been brought up e.g. tow hook for example, didn't even think of that. Perhaps it's all just a pipe dream. |

Not gonna work without extremely time consuming and expensive modifications.
