2009 335i thunk/clunk in driveline.
I am getting a pretty significant driveline clunk/thunk during throttle lift from full throttle. I do notice it a bit when going from coasting to heavy throttle application. If I drive cautiously and feather in and out of throttle I don't feel any clunk. This is not the transmission downshifting or upshifting as I am feel the thunk when in manual mode and holding a specific gear. It happens in any gear. It feels like there is play in the driveline and it takes a millisecond for the play to be taken up but when it catches it thunks. The car has about 150,000 I've kept up with maintenance, transmission fluid and filter were changed about 50,000 miles ago, so going to be due soon. Never changed solenoids.
Does this sound like a bad guibo? Engine mounts? Transmission mounts? Diff mounts? Subframe mounts? Thanks boys. |

Was starting to get this in my old 335i - also an 09 - at similar mileage. Turned out to be worn diff bushings. Of course the car was totaled a week later…
