Window Tinting Shop

Everyone,

Just ordered my 335i. Any recommendation for a good shop that is reasonably priced. When I had my 08 G37s, I had a lot of problem with tinting my window. I had to go to three shops. They couldn't get the front window tint from flapping due o the window going down slightly when opening the door.

thanks

I don't recommend Accutint, my friend had a lot of issues with his tint. I did hear that there is a new owner, but I would go to Metropolitan Detail. Its on Bel Red road. They'll do a good job.

I've had no problems with Accutint for either clear bra or tinting. However, I've also gone to Metropolitan Detail, but for detailing only, and they are top notch. Between the two I'd probably go with MD at this time.

Absouletly zero problem with Accutint. Bellevue and Seattle Accutint are own by two different owners now. Most my friends and family use Seattle Accutint for tint, clear bra and detail at all time. But I do agree with Ippreakx06 that Metropolitan Detail on Bel Red road does an awesome work too.

I had issues with the Bellevue Accutint but the Seattle one took awesome care of me and have had no issues since. Def go to the Seattle one if you can.

Late to the thread but I just got my car tinted at Prestige Window Tinting in Lynnwood and was really impressed.
It's a one man shop and the guy does good work and is careful with vehicles.

I got mine done at Ice Tech down in Mill Creek/Bothell area. Great service and pretty cheap ($150 for my E92, all windows except front) and that comes with a lifetime warranty.

Go see John at Metropolitan Detail. His shop is on Bel-Red by the Biggs Land Rover shop. You won't have any issues at all, and they are good at tinting dot matrix.

How much will the tint cost for a 4dr 07 328i sedan from Accutint.

Just wondering so I don't waist my time going there. You can PM me if you would like.
Thank you.

That is a great price. Any issues with your tint? What type of tint did you get? regular or ceramic? Brand?

thanks

I'm getting mine done here at Ice Tech right now. $125 plus tax for my car. They're using regular tint made by DNF.

Red..we are getting our BMW's about the same time. Did you get a quote for your 335 from Accutint? I am thinking ceramic since I have comfort access.

Also, my current 335 windows are tinted. Over time, the front tints became grooved and scratched. I heard this was an issue with BMWs. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening? Maybe Accutint knows.

67R60,

I called and got a quote over a month ago. The regular tint was in the $200 range and ceramic is a little over $300. The person told me I do not need ceramic tint even with my idrive and NAV.

Just wanted to comment that you don't need ceramic for comfort access, as long as they are not metalized (I think). I'm using Suntek Carbon on all my windows (including windshield) and have had no problems whatsoever with my CA or remote. I've also had that for over a year and the windshield is as clear as day one (as far as grooves and scratches are concerned).

Also, I did mine at Jay's Tint Shop up in Kirkland. Did 2 cars there so far and it's been really good. Had another forum member comment positively on the dotmatrix area in the rear window. As far as price, I think it was $250 for the carbon all windows except windshield, and discount if you pay cash. $150 for windshield. There was some long term or lifetime warranty but I don't remember.

I don't really have a picture of my car showing the front and the back tints, but here's a picture of the front.

I have 35% in the front and 20% in the back. With 35% tint, you can see me, but you can't really see my face. Then at night, the tint is really dark and it's even hard to see me through the front windows even though it's not tinted. Then I guess it's because I have black interior so it's darker than it really seems. No bubbles and they really do a great service to inspect every little area on the tint. The thing about them is they only have 3 levels of tint, 35%, 20% and 5%. Nothing in between.

Depends on your interior though. I have 55% windshield, and 18% all around with tan interior E92. You can see my face (through the windshield, sometimes the sides) when it's sunny or when I open my sunroof shade (slightly cloudy). Only when it gets kinda dark outside will my windows look solid black (as in you can't even tell whether there's anyone in the car or not).
