Fire up INPA, get that connected, choose your model, then then hit F2 - Identification.
This will open up a list of your modules. Find your DSC module; read the SGBD group for it - mine was DSC_87.
Close INPA, and open ToolSet32. On the top left, hit the open file, and navigate to the file you found above, e.g. DSC_87.prg. Open that.
Once it loads, a list of commands will open. Assuming it's all in German, you're looking for Lenkwinkel ausgleichen. Double click on that command, and it should run ok for you. Obviously make sure that the car is on a level surface, with the front wheels pointing straight ahead.

Which element of it didn't work? I assume you got all the way into Ediabas & ran the command. What's the underlying issue anyhow?

There's a DSC calibration sequence in INPA; that won't reset the steering angle sensor on its own though, but it's a good place to start. So the lights are still on - what codes are present? Have you replaced the DSC module or a steering component?

OK, is the part number identical to what you had previously? And was it a new or used item?

This sounds like a bad steering angle sensor, or even a faulty SZL unit.
The SZL is indirectly calibrated via the DSC module. The steering must be straight, like someone has mentioned above.

Ensure that the cables / connectors to the SZL are plugged in correctly, or

Strip the SZL unit and clean it properly with alcohol. If the steering angle sensor is unable to get a reading on the angle of the steer, the DSC will throw up all sorts of errors.

There's a good wealth of info on the 'my $0.99c steering fix...' or something similar on this forum. Look it up.

You did not mention why you replaced the szl unit in the first place ? Was something wrong with it ?

The DSC unit has been known to give up the ghost, but generally, you could check other things as well such as the reluctor ring or the ABS sensor, or even both!

Good to hear, but don't keep us all in suspense.

If you share what your issue was, then I'm sure it could help potential others who experience similar issues. After all, you did post this thread asking for advice.

I have this exact same problem. I've tried the INPA configuration and the tool 32 process described exactly as above. But no such luck, any other ideas. When I do the tool32 process it flashes up the ABS light on the dash and off again. But nothing else really happens.

I need help!!!
