Is this a compatible head gasket kit for 2007 335i?

I found this one PartsGeek.com and it seems like a good deal. They are good about prices but I noticed it says it is for a 2007-2008 335xi and I have a 2007 335i.

there's no difference in the upper end of the motor between XI or I. The oil pan is different.

but for pete's sake, don't cheap out on head gaskets for a turbo motor.

at least stick with a trusted aftermarket company like reinz if you're not going to buy genuine.

For that price you can throw the head gasket away and it's cheaper than some other companies. definitely going to make sure I get good quality but sometimes the same qualities triple the price depending on who's selling it.

I don't disagree that it pays to shop around, but for the amount of effort to actually get at a head gasket I wouldn't want to ever revisit the job because I tried to save $50.

I bought an aftermarket valve cover for mine, so I'm no genuine or bust snob. My experience however has shown me that there's a wide difference in quality when it comes to genuine/OE/aftermarket when it comes to headgaskets. I've even had some cheap ones not fit the head, didn't have cooling jacket holes cut out. If I'd simply used it and not paid attention I'd have killed a motor.
proceed with caution.

Agreed. PartsGeek also has cheapness from brands I have heard of like Victor Reinz. I just wanted to be sure that the 335ix was the same in most ways. I already have an oil pan gasket so that is covered. My main thing today is finding rings for less than the $140 a piston that most sites sell them for.

Your right. It is funny when your stock rings are $840.00 when your could get JE Pistons with upgraded rings for $999.00

I am still parts hunting. I didn't want to start until I pulled the head today and took a look at the cylinder walls and valves.

OK, is it me or does it seem crazy that I cannot find rings for less than over $100 PER CYLINDER! I think these cost more than any other car. I have clicked on ads for a whole set of 6 for well under $200 but it is for the 325 instead of 335. I also notice most other cars are about $20-$30 a piston at the most.

Just wanted to update. I did get and install that low cost head gasket kit. It was great! I compared the head gasket side by side with the original one and it was exactly like it. 5 layers of stiff metal with black tar looking sealant on the exact same areas and in the same width thickness, etc. I also got rings from MMP for about $300. The motor is back together and running strong. I had my doubts but the head gasket just was a great deal and the head gasket, valve seals, looked and appeared to be the same weight, quality, finish as the BMW ones I removed. The intake rings were orange instead of black, that was the only thing I noticed different in any way.
