where you at a low rpm when you gave it some gas? i had the same errors from the last beta maps. iirc rob said because the torque limiter cutting power because of gunning it on low rpms but i guess that fixed it after the official release.

adidasoccer,

I apologize for the issues your having. I would recommend re-flashing back to a v301 map until I can get some more info to you. It will be first thing tomorrow.

Thanks,
Jason

Well, to be honest, I've seen weird ass issues with their v2.x firmware. The climate control fan would randomly turn on at its lowest setting, sometimes 4-5 times a minute. It was literally a game between me turning it of and it turning itself back on. This did not go away (even after multiple reflashes) till v3.00 firmware was released.

Ok now, I accidentally flashed to the Stage 1+ FMIC 4.0 'Drive' instead of 'Aggressive'..... Should I wait before I switch or this is just an isolated incident?

For the early 4.0 Beta testers, did you have this problem?

Are there any benefits of putting this on top of the latest BMW standard software rather than an existing tune?

Sorry if this has been covered!!
Apparently it is possible to directly flash over another remap. People have already done that with a GIAC remap IIRC. However, note that your Evolve remap will not be stored by the AP as it is encrypted and the AP cannot read it; it will therefor replace it with a generic map.

I would recommend reflashing to stock at a BMW dealership in order to avoid having problems with diagnosing if something does not work as it should - it would then be difficult to know whether this was caused by the generic map used or by the COBB tune.

Tried the 4.00 stage 1 aggressive stock throttle map last night and this morning. Big improvement from 3.01 I think - much more refined. No codes/torque issues for me so far, even from a low-rpm pull in 3rd.

Really enjoying the change

Definitely a lot smoother, i do however feel the surge has been brought back in the rpm, meaning it used to happen between 3k and 4k now its around 2k, however very difficult to replicate or notice. I was trying consistently to.

Dare i say that COBB with these maps have the best OTS tune in the BMW world?!!!

Can you go into any more details on the differences that you felt between v3.01 and v400? Does the car feel quicker, slower, what are its improvements?

I had a surge between 3k and 4 k which has been eliminated, much smoother than before, you dont feel the monster kick that i use to get on the 301 ST maps. My butt dyno tells me its slower, needs more adaptation or it maybe the smoothness fooling me.

I think the smoothness is fooling your butt..
I got the same first impression. But after some more driving, i think itīs at least as powerfull as 301.
And a lot more comfortable.
I like it a lot, and it feels like my AT does too

I think I might stick with v301 for the punch in the back, unless v400 gives any significant inprovments.

Sorry guys just a stupid question to which I can't find the answer.
I'm receiving a COBB AP so first step should be that I'm connecting it to PC for firmware update? Or connecting it to the car for ROM recognition?

Appreciate...

plug it in the car first to see what rom you are because not every car has the same rom. then go back to the computer for maps, updates etc...
