Dimming Rear View Mirror Issue

I have a 2010 328i and I'm having an issue where my rear view mirror doesn't dim. It's weird because my side view mirrors DO dim and the compass and homelink features do work.

I know that it used to work before and to make sure I wasn't crazy I searched my vin online and confirmed that all the mirror do in fact have the "auto-dip" feature (S430A & S431A) so I'm not sure what do make of this.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Update: The rear view mirror now dims! It's strange because I haven't done anything with/to it. It just started working again. Anyone know what would cause it to randomly start/stop working (Besides the obvious light hitting the mirror)?

Maybe it was coded out as my mirrors auto dimmed way too much, I had to cover the sensor

I don't think so because it was working before... Also the side mirrors still dim

Is your back window tinted? If so, it could be throwing off the calibration between the front and rear photo eye.

After installing window tint on my car. The auto dim mirror hardly activates. I’m considering to particularly block off the front sensor to simulate a darkening to make the front more comparable to the back.

You can use INPA to adjust the sensitivity of the auto dimming. Why don't you test if it works at all though. Cover up the sensor on the back of the mirror and shine a flash light on the front sensor tonight. It should go max dark. If it does not something is wrong.

There is nothing leaking from your mirror or has leaked right?

No leaking... I tried covering sensor in the front of the mirror and shining a light on the on the sensor inside of the mirror and it does not dim however the side mirrors do in fact dim.

I do have a K+DCAN cable so if it was a coding issue what variables would I change? Also how would I go about adjusting it in INPA?
