strut spring compressor

I have the old hook type spring compressor . .will this work ok for changing my 2006 330xi struts?

The answer is no it will not work for my 330xi . . I had to borrow another type from a friend. And also I had to compress the spring to reinstall it even though the bavauto utube video said it wasn't necessary.

That's strange. I used the exact one pictured and it worked great. I did not have to compress to reinstall. But I did install the eibach pro's with bilstein sports.

Handheld spring compressors are not quite enough to compress OEM springs onto OEM struts. It's much easier/safer with a wall-mounted spring compressor at a shop.

My assumption would be the eibach pros are a shorter spring .. this was a Koni install with the stock springs.

I use 2 sets of hand held compressors on every bmw strut I install in my shop. Most wall mount compressors including the one I use in my shop for other cars will not compress spring enough.
