MODS please close, car was stolen and ditched in NYC...called the owner and its getting back to them, rightfully so! Glad it turned out ok.

Damn that sucks.
But how stupid are NYC cops to not call in the plate to see if it was stolen?
Guess they make more money if they write up as many tickets as possible in the time it was there.

2 weeks after a car is reported stolen doesn't the ins company consider the car a total loss and pay out?
