335d buzzing from engine after its turned off..

Have a really weird issue with my 335d.. after it is switched off (with key removed) there is an obvious buzzing noise from the engine bay area.. sounds to be from under the inlet manifold. It starts and stops but is will continue for hours and hours. Also not sure if this is associated- but a slight knocking or banging noise can also be hear from around the gear shifter area inside the car.
These things are draining my battery to a point that of not drove for a few days there won't be enough power to start the cat.
I will upload a video.. but has anybody got any ideas??
