Deposit for ordering car:: How much did you pay?
Please state the fallowing.
1. Deposit you put down for them to order the car. 2. How many weeks until in driveway. 3. Amount for Down payment Please put it in the fallowing order so its easier for everybody to read and comprehend. (Instead ov bluriting it together like a sentence like so) My salesmen said usally they ask for about 10% of the car value for a deposit when ordering (for me would equall $4700 deposit) ^^^ Is that BS? |

It's on the Ryujin. It left the 12th I believe, left late. I think the Ryujin, Elektra and maybe some other ship are all due around the 12th or 13th of March in Port Hueneme.

1. $500
2. 7 1/2 wks. 3. 21k My loan was 5.5% so some of my friends said I should have put less down, since anyone can get 5.05% in an internet savings acct and say barring changing conditions 9-10% in moderate alloc. mutual funds, but I wanted a pymt closer to $450.... |

$1000 refundable. Paid by check so that dealer didn't pay CC fees.
About 7 weeks (East Coast). ZERO. Wife's car is always leased.

Perhaps he said the deposit would need to be around 10% due to the fact of how young I am.
He was probally taking me out for a spin, trying to fool me as best as he could I guess. Basterd CA. |

1). $2,000 deposit to order.
2). They say about 9 weeks delivery. (we'll see...) 3). Balance due on delivery. Deposit could have been anywhere between $1K and $5K if you wanted to maximize credit card air miles, points, etc. |

I dealt with Passport. Great pricing and service btw, ring up Peter Brizan (internet department) and he'll take care of you. They work with big volumes so good chances they can get your car in fast.
1) $1,000 refundable deposit by CC. Everything was done by fax. I didn't step foot at the dealership until delivery day 2) From the moment of the first call to the day I drove off the lot, it took 43 days exactly (6 weeks). And this was with some delays (cancelled PCD so car had to be trucked back up to MD, couldn't get to the dealer the day the car arrived there etc). 3) Downpayment's up to you I paid $500 over invoice and no BS fees.

I hear you, conservatively one can do 9% return, but the flip side would be keeping the car payment lower, my monthly cash flow (employment) excluding savings is higher...the funds came out of a floundering mutual fund anyway (disgraceful 5 yr. return--how those guys keep their jobs is beyond me when they underperform like that!)...I guess if what I formerly said didn't make sense, there'd be no leasing at all. I want the low lease payment $ amount, but I want to own the car, so I have to put a larger downpay....
