Sid, that sucks bad!!! Did you jump the curb, or bounce off of it? I am assuming you jumped it since you were leaking fluids....if you did, probably punctured radiator and oil pan to be leaking those fluids.

For suspension, like said above, probably all the control arms and tie links and such...hopefully steering box and front subframe ok or could get very pricey. They will replace your wheels if scuffed...ask how I know...

Remember, all the M suspension bits are aluminum, and can be damaged pretty easily.

Yeah I jumped the curb :-(..... So I am assuming you had a similar incident and they replaced your wheels? I just went and look at the car that the two wheels on the left side both have significant curb rash but still "look" structurally sound. So they better replace them!

Yikes! Sorry to hear about the accident, Sid. No wonder you couldn't make it. Hope everything turns out okay.

Hey Sid, hear anything back from the dealer yet? That sucks about the accident, but at least you are ok. Did your airbags deploy?

Balls! That sucks, Sid. We should all try to attend the fall driving school or one of the lapping days.

Got to ride in with Alex on one of his laps, and was surprised how much of a difference the coil overs made. He could take corners at speeds that I wasn't coming anywhere close to. (Of course, I'm sure the driver mod has a lot to do with that as well. )

Met up with Michael and his Interlagos E90 M3, which won Car of the Day. Love that color on the ///M!

Sid never showed though.... Hope you're okay, man. Not like you to miss a driving event.
It was a blast for sure. The instructor rides were just about worth the admission alone. I rode in a GT3, Cayman and race prepped E36 M3. I had no idea a car could go that fast into and through a turn.

I was pretty surprised I won best car on Sunday over that V10 R8. One of the corner workers at corner 1 said he voted for my car because I was coming into corner 1 so fast that he thought he was actually going to get to using the fire extinguisher on my car if I over cooked it and went off. LOL.

Can't wait to do it again. It's definitely changed the direction of mods I'd like to do.

Congratulations on your award! It was nice to meet you, even if it was brief.

BTW: The GT3 driver is my private instuctor. (Was it a silver 2004 GT3 with black interior?) I'll have to ask him if he's taking any more students. And Xiaofeng, that was more than one lap.

The best part of the weekend for me was the camraderie. I had fun but my driving sucked, it felt like I took a step backwards.

nomile: Nice to meet you in person and thanks for the weight data.

Rambler Ranch?

What do you guys think about doing this this weekend?

FYI, this is the Rambler Ranch, not to be confused with the Bunny Ranch!

It says the registration is closed but I sure we could probably still get in on this.

Rambler Ranch Tour & Picnic
BMW CCA - Rocky Mountain - Driving Schools
Sunday Jul 17
Rambler Ranch, Elizabeth, CO
Registration Closed: Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:59P (Mountain time)
Rambler Ranch Tour and Picnic

by Bill Schaefer and Ali Bandell

On Sunday, July 17 our club has been invited to tour the Rambler Ranch in Elizabeth. The Rambler Ranch is a private collection of 400 restored and running vehicles along with another 200 cars awaiting restoration in the “field of dreams”. The museum is not open to the public and is by invitation only. The collection is strongly biased toward Nash and AMC vehicles, but there is a little something for everyone including micro cars like the BMW Isetta 600 limo and the Fiat Bianchina along with a fair amount of 1950s American iron too (one of the favorites is the Edsel station wagon with the steer horns on the hood). There is also an amazing amount of coke machines, old signs, gas pumps, model cars, neon, and auto literature to view. This private museum is quickly becoming much more popular - the Rambler Ranch was recently featured on the TV show My Classic Car. Recent additions to the Ranch include a period correct Sinclair gas station that houses the gift shop (nice photo opportunity with your classic car) and the new 1955 Kelvinator kitchen. Did you know that the Nash Kelvinator refrigerator door handles also fit a Nash car? True. Check it all out at www.ramblerranch.com

Many of our club members have older classic cars, both BMWs and other brands. We will be having our own low-key stress-free people’s choice car show with two classes – BMW and other. The only rule is that the car has to be a 1979 or older model to participate. Prizes will be awarded. So bring out your beautiful 427 Corvette Tim! And your ‘Cuda convertible Paul!

The club will be providing hamburgers and brats and drinks. The brats will be prepared using a secret Wisconsin recipe that’ll make you think you’re at Road America. We ask that you bring something to share potluck style. Last names starting with A – H bring appetizers. I – P bring side dishes. And Q – Z handles desserts. Use this as a guideline but if you are known the world over for making a killer dessert but you have the wrong last name, go for it. The Rambler Ranch can comfortably seat 100 to 150 people.

We’ll be gathering at the Walmart on Highway 86 to caravan to the Rambler Ranch. The Walmart is located approximately ½ mile west of Elizabeth or approximately eight miles east of Franktown. We’ll be departing at 9:45am for a planned 10:00 arrival.

Cost is $16 per person, regardless of age. And if you’re bringing a car to display, let us know the year, make and model. Deadline for registration is Sunday, July 10. All attendees must register in advance, online. No walk-ups will be accepted on the day of the event.

Watch out who you call OLD! I'll beat your arse with my cane.

I'd be more interested in the cars waiting to be restored. Do you need to show your BMWCCA card to get in?

Fall performance driving school registration opens up tomorrow. The date is Sept 25th at HPR. Who is going? I am definitely going to make this one this time. I was so bummed when I crashed my car the night before the Spring Driving School.

Dude Sid, your quote in your signature. IDOL is spelled incorrectly It should be Idle.

"FROM THE CNET REVIEW OF THE M3: This is how you tell when you're driving a real car. The sound it makes when started up cold, cluttering metallic kind of clanking big old lumpy square cam kind of idol, not until it gets to full operating temperature does this car sound like it's not coming unscrewed. That's what a high performance car is supposed to do. "
