And yeah the rain test will be amazing, I've had the back end out a few times going round an island with a little throttle increase and it can be pretty scary so it will be interesting to see how the LSD affects that. Well enjoy anyway and report back when you can
Yeah the difference between the DSC/DTC intervening and the LSD intervening, is that the electronics simply just cuts the power. Whereas the LSD transfers it across the axle, hence increased traction and you just power onwards. Also, the control aspect is brilliant - the car is so much more predictable when it begins to slide. Again, this is with the DSC/DTC fully off. There is no snapiness which you rightly mention can be scary. This I proved the other day when I had a bit of a play in the wet (in an empty, private area of course). I could let the rear step out by quite some angle and then control it with some opposite lock and feeling is just amazing!
I really do believe that straight line performance is much better. I wish I had timed acceleration times before and after installation.

Given up on this vinyl wrapping of the interior trim. I finished it all perfect, but then on a hot day the other day, it started lifting.
I really can't be bothered doing it again so all pieces in the paint shop to be painted. no risk of lifting off.

the quaiffe is a good upgrade from the standard diff. Certainly does help with traction and control. Nice purchase.

Yeah that’s what pits me off wrapping and hence I’ve always gone down the carbon leather trim instead.

Yeah man defo. Is that what can come in the M3? I've never seen it for sale and I daren't ask BMW for a price...if it is the one I'm thinking of, it is very nice.

Yeah it’s the carbon leather that comes in the M3.

I have thought about swapping mine out for real CF trim but unsure.

It does come up every so often but you do have to be quick.

This is mine:

Okay, so this happened last week!
I am extremely happy with the finish and colour.
Professionally painted by a car body shop in a gloss anthracite colour.

props for choosing a different route to most of us it looks bloody brilliant and it was when you mentioned the bubbles that occur in the summer that I realised mines lifting around the automatic shifter plastic and to be honest I'm looking at the carbon fibre wrap now and I think it's making it look tacky more than anything :/ is it expensive to get the trims painted?

Ah cheers man. Yeah exactly. Unless it is perfect, it will look tacky unfortunately. This was the third time wrapped and I couldn't be dealing with it anymore ha.
Well, fortunately someone did it as a favour for me. However, it would roughly be between £100 to £150 to get them prepped and painted. I don't think it is too bad considering.

Looks spot on and much better painted. I did the same to my X5 trim until I sourced some genuine AC Schnitzer CF trim.

To be fair, if my trim was fine standard, I would have probably never entertained modding it. However, I bought the car over 3 years ago with it already wrapped in a nasty bright blue. When I removed that wrap, it was painted in a nasty blue too!! So I had to do something.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that my car was dropped off at Ecotune on the weekend. Will be with them for a couple of weeks whilst it is getting the turbo hybrid-ised, Wagner FMIC, their own custom sports cat downpipe and then to be remapped and dyno'd etc.

Just came across your build thread. Sounds like you've turned that thing into a bit of a weapon! I like it! I was thinking of the Quaife LSD for my Z4 - by the sounds of things it's made some massive differences for you, so would you say it's definitely worth the investment?
