Nearly 100m up and down the driveway.

Ive wired up the transbrake wrong twice.

Having another go today.

Adjusting/fabricating the exhaust without having braces to hold the exhaust is impossible. Im going to have guess tack and check until it fits. My arms were stuffed yesterday doing it so that still doesnt fit.

I have to get some drawings and qoutes done for my place then im wiring it up again 3rd time lucky. Im definitely not a good sparky.

Wired up and tested in the driveway.

Reverse works, transbrake in 1st works.

Exhaust is dodged up but clears the driveshaft. Need some flexi joints and re weld with a bit of clearance.

Next up putting 2 pwr oil coolers on for the transmission...

Went for first drive on the street!

Been working on it today.
Had to fabricate intercooler pipe as the 90 degree silicone was about 30mm to short to work.
Installed turbo beanie. Took 12 seconds.
Installed 1 oil cooler where the wheel is. Other oil cooler is being made. They are both around 250x280x37.
1 with a fan and one without.
Should be fine around the street with one.

Got my first feeling of boost and powerglide and im impressed.
Its only a small turbo and .84 ar it has torque straight away.
To get moving from a stop its a slug but once its up rolling 15-20kmph it has torque.

So pumped to just clean things up and make it better rather than get it going.

Oh yeahhhhhhh!!!

This car needs air bag recall so I wont be driving it until its fixed.
Booked in 17.01.2019

Until then I will upgrade fuel system and tidy everything up. Ive organised somewhere to dyno it in January.

Ill see how its running on wastegate 15psi spring first then see If I can get jb4 boost control working.

Glad to hear it's coming together Brule, even if it's taking some time

Huge job to get the single turbo plus the powerglide all sorted, lots of custom parts and lots of problem solving

great to see you on the home stretch, fingers crossed for you that any remaining hurdles are small ones

After removing jb4 in around 2014 I have not had a tuning issue and mr car has run flawlessly. Never even had a misfire.

I weighed up my options and decided to get a jb4.

It should work easy as lots of people have good experiences.

I would like to get an aftermarket ecu and port injection only but that be another 10k minimum.

Anyway I got the JB4 installed. My jb4 usb cable and 3port mac arrived today so ill pick it up from the courier tomorrow.

I watched a diy to remove the air bag but after half an hour of poking around trying to get it off sweating and dripping everywhere I thought ill jyst tidy up some wiring and buy stuff online. I couldnt get the air bag off and felt like just prying it off so I went inside.

Do the reverse lights run through the CAN network via the junction box ? I remember the good ole days of working on VLs where it was just a switch.
Best of luck dude !

They run to a box under inlet manifold.

Im not a good electrician.
