BWchiptune - good rep / reviews - AGREED Ecotune - good rep / reviews - AGREED GBW/GKR - personally a good experience, good power gains and support. DISAGREE WITH Overall negative comments about GBW/GKR and asking for your evidence and proof, not just comments or hearsay. I have shown my results, now its time to put some FACTS to your superior tuning knowledge. I look forward to my lesson.

In part, i agree @rasa_bmw that there are some tuners that under/over measure on their dynos to make their maps look better than the next. Its always good practice before taking your car to a tuner, to take it to a local dyno (with a good rep/motorsport background) to get a guide on your power graph. That way when you go to the tuner with a dyno, you will know whether their dyno is up or down. Asking for comparison graphs and checking rev ranges will determine how accurate and improved the remap has been to your car. There are lots of other factors in the refinement of maps but looking forward to hearing @rasa_bmw knowledge on the subject on this thread. At the end of it all, thats why we pay the tuners.... they should carry the knowledge and know how but also retaining the safety of your vehicles long term health.

got a bit on at minute,,but i will create my findings etc,,i have a couple of days off next week,,so going to a tuners to learn,,he is doing 3 cars all bmw....love the experience..although i do a few jobs while im there for free,,skivvy ha ha
i thought i knew a little about tuning,,but last 7 months i now realise i knew diddly squat,,only waht folk had told me,,and when i say folk,,i mean the folk that have been told by tuners when getting their car mapped etc,,,the work needed to write a tune from scratch is weird,,still getting lost in it ha ha..when this is all done im thinking of becoming an agent,,,long way to go though,,wouldnt want to work on anyones car without full knowledge,,especially once ive seen what goes into it... |

Looking forward to hearing your findings / write up but if you are going to be an agent in the future you might want to be careful disrespecting other tuners who you clearly have no experience with and are vastly more experienced than you at this stage. Reputation is everything and you bad mouthing other suppliers wont get you too far in the industry...

its only a long shot i could become a tuner,,and it wouldnt be like a full time job,,im winding down now ha ha,,still keep fit etc but looking at retirement not to soon,,although i will continue working as it is a great calorie burner and only 2 hours per day,,although that 2 hours would be 6 hours in a normal labouring job..,,and im adamant that im gonna be same weight i was when i was 19-23 years old when i boxed and played football,,shit im waffling,,its early ha ah

My experience with glen, gbw tuning then, now gkr performance, is a totally negative experience. Took my 35d to him twice, and both times he had double booked ! Managed to put the map on 1st visit, but had take it down again for work finishing off due to time restraints (double booking!). Sorted the next visit, but tried to charge me for work previously paid for ! Settled on price (previously agreed by texts). Not too impressed with working practices, dropping tools in engine bay, getting into unprotected car in dirty jeans and leaving handprints in car. Map seemed good, and the price was reasonable, so put the negatives to one side. Later needed help with the map that glen put on and he ignored my calls, texts and emails. Lastly asked him to revert my map to standard, and still no contact. Really disappointed, as his previous reviews were great. Maybe I caught him on a couple of off days, but on my experience, I would not recommend him to anybody. If anyone needs any more detailed info, pm me, as I don't want to go into too much detail on a public forum
