Transmission Malfunction- Won't even crank the car

Changed all of the seals in the transmission (bridge seal, mechatronic sleeve, and the valve seals) filled with fluid, went to start the car to run it up to temperature and through the gears, won't even crank, telling me Transmission malfunction! "Functionality or display of gear selector position may malfunction, possible to engage gear without depressing brake pedal". Also tells me "start off assistance inactive, vehicle may roll back"

Pertinent info:

2007 335i N54, ZF transmission.
Vehicle is currently on jack stands, in P.
used the service button under the gearshift to put it in N to roll it to where it is now.

Tried to pull codes from TCU, got "No response from Controlunit" error.

DME gave the following errors relating to trans:

CD99 Message (torque request, EGS, 0xB5) incorrect, receiver DME, transmitter EGS / HIM / SMG / DCT.

CD9E Message (transmission data 2, 0x1A2) incorrect, receiver DME, transmitter EGS/SMG/DCT.

CD9D Message (transmission data, 0xBA) incorrect, receiver DME, transmitter EGS/HIM/SMG/DCT.

CDB0 Message error (display, transmission data, 0x1D2), DME receiver, ETC / HIM / SMG / DCT transmitter.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Also, is the EGS part of the valve body? and if not where is it located?

-R

The issues you are having are usually caused by the transmission not being fully connected at the round plug. Common causes are the sleeve not being fully seated, the electrical connector not being fully inserted and/or bent pins on the connector. You can inspect the pins with a small mirror.

EGS is the black thing bolted to the valve body. The round connector hooks directly to it.

Thanks smass, I will give that a look, I suspected as much, as I was having difficulty getting the mechatronic sleeve to mate up last night. I will backtrack and see if that works.

Issue resolved, new one to tackle. As smass mentioned, it was indeed the mechatronic sleeve not being fully seated that was causing the issue (yet another example as to why I shouldn't work on the car past my bedtime)... I re-seated it, and the car starts now, the TCU codes I had are gone. However in INPA when I try to connect to the transmission it will not let me connect, except now the fault that pops up is "requested control unit: 'GS19/V1.06.....' not found. Control unit found: GS19D, is it possible I am just missing the correct .ipo files or something?

When INPA does not work for me I switch over to ISTA+ which always works. If you are just trying to reset the adaptions, don't worry to much about it. You really only need to do that if you complete the repair and the car is shifting poorly. Resetting speeds up the automatic process that will happen on its own.

Hi I did transmission service on my 2009 BMW 335XI

More info:
Replaced Seals & Solenoids, as well as Spark & Coil Plugs,

As I was attempting to do the fill process of turning the car on and filling with fluid and the car wouldn’t crank nor start and I had like a weird surge of power like the car seemed as if it was having a voltage splurg/ low voltage idk 🙆🏾‍♂️😂 just flickering of eveyrhing. I took the battery back to the machanic shop that replaced he battery last year and they gave me a brand new one.

My car would crank & run perfectly prior to the transmission service.

Here are some of the codes:

AOB6
CAS: Selector-Lever Interlock

АЗВЗ
Instrument Cluster: No Message

Note that many of these codes has went away after clearing the codes with new battery, however I want to state also that the car did die causing me to change battery, however idk if I’m understanding correctly but basically my cars not communicating with my transmission. Would that transmission electrical cord that plugs into the mechatronic be the culprit that was HELL ON EARTH doing underneath jack.

Would that cause the electrical wired stuff going on that I didn’t have prior to the transmission work ?

And I saw something about hear selector and something of the sort do you thing that’s out of place ??

To be quite honest I’m 18 got this car when I was 17 and did a really good jump keeping
It going until this point.

Last but not least I somehow stripped some bolts on the trans pan, anyone have any tips to get it out. It’s 2 of them.
Sorry about all of these questions.

I’ve bolded the ones that popped out to me.
Someone please help where do I start ??
