Done. Generated the key successfully. Copied the maps folder, pkgdb, and the config.nmf file onto the USB. When inserted in the glove box usb, nothing happens. How can I check that the USB port is functional? ISTA?

If you can copy music tracks from USB Port to CIC Drive, its working.

USB should be a 2.0 Fat32 Formatted USB Drive with pkgdb, and the config.nfm in USB root, not nested inside a folder. And if using a Mac, need to wipe hidden Mac files from USB Drive.

Just performed the test, it is the USB port that is the culprit. I cannot add music to the library either: when I click "imoport music" the system asks me to insert a usb drive. The same drive works flawlessly in the central armrest when I play music from it. I even checked the partition of the drive as I read somewhere that only MBR was recognized by the system. So I need to troubleshoot the USB port in the glove box. Any idea where to start? Oh, the USB stick lights up but without blinking. So it's not being read by the system but there is power coming to it.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to se this all up. Unfortunately, every time i try to DL the 1b.hex from glove compartment, everything downloads with the exception of the hex file. i wind up with the folder, its just 0 bytes in size. Any idea what's happening here? I've also tried using the SWTPatcher method using fstool2 to generate 1b fsc. I was successful in generating 17 & 19 fsc's but when i try to SW Develop and add the 1B FSC, I'm able to load the root and sig, but it rejects fsc every time. As you can see from screenshot, the 1b folder added to usb from glove USB, is empty. I've tried leaving it 30 sec, I've tried leaving it for an hour and a lot of different times in between. I'm at a loss. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Car is 2009 #328i e93 with combox retrofit. Combox build date is Feb 2012. CIC I-level updated to latest. Actually took the CIC and combox from same vehicle so i knew they'd be compatible. VIN: P460090. VIN has been added to CIC and build date changed to 09/11

Hi, thanks for all this. However ive got a major problem with the 1b download as the downloaded zip only contains the copie-scr file and the instruction file. The fsc batch file is completely missing from the download so i get no 1b generated when i plug into the car.

Am i missing something? Ive tried it on a few different devices and connections with the same result. Any help much appreciated

Version: ECE, BMW, 1.0.1 Testmap 2008-2
Any recommendation will help.
