Weird smell under the hood.

Hmmm i just got my car serviced for my 30k miles. Two days past by, my car is having this weird smell, (smells like burnt rubber/plastic burning) i checked under the hood and there is little smoke that comes from my left side of the engine. I know this is a stupid question but do you guys think it's the coolant fluid problem ie leakage? or more of an engine problem. Either way i'm going to send this car to the dealership to see what the problem is, but i was trying to check on the forum before i send it in. Please send feedback.

i'm pretty sure it's normal. I have that burnt plastic smell coming from the engine too. As for the smoke, is it cold where you live? When it rains and my temp is 250, my hood has smoke coming out of it because it's hot. But then again, it may be something else.

I figured something was leaking oil, that is amazing that you have an oil leak at 30K miles. Hope they get everything fixed this time around.

Be careful, you will get hooked on the 1. I had a 2007 335i. I test drove a 135i on a whim and placed an order on the spot.

yeah it was a small valve leak which was leaking onto my exhaust; which was making the smoke visible.
