just look at this pic, you see the tray fixed with clips, just push them in, the tray will slide out. easy!

Do I push up away from the clips or do I push the container downward past the clips? The clips on the front and back are made of non-flexing plastic.. how do I get past that part?

I gotta do my Z4 coupe now / trust me, at least you dont have to disassemble the whole car in order to get the trim out. Toughest part is getting off centre vent portion on e90, rest is peanuts. I advise you get a 4-6 dollar trim tool set and the whole process will be very simple. The wrap itself I think just needs to be done at slow pace, allowing for good drying time so that fabric sticks well to trim and doesnt move around. Thats the key to getting good angles (and stretch of course)!

NOt sure exactly what you mean, but you start from pulling this thing up from centre console towards the front of the car. So once you freed up first "level", keep sort of pulling it up as you go towards front, dont apply too much force, just slowly build up pressure. There is nothing there thats too easy to break I think but just stick your fingers into the gap between trim and console and start going forward.

PS. Damn, someone should just make the video of this, I wrote it up in pre "everyone has an iphone" era.
