It is never going to feel quicker than a GTi, it is about the same power but much more linear in its delivery than the GTi, the GTi has a big shove to it that you don't get with the 123d.
I think they both have a 0-60 of 6.7 seconds?? I bet I could get round a track quicker in the 123d than the GTi though, wonderfully balanced machine on the edge, as is the GTi for a FWD car. |

Really - I never noticed any difference going between the wifes 1 and either of my E46 or E92 ?????? Is this what you sometimes see when people complain about the pedal offset in BMWs?

When you first get in if you put your left foot down without any thought I guarantee you will find it on the footrest, not the clutch.

i love the 123d engine, got it in my coupe (its all down to opinion but i love the look of the coupe, not keen on the hatch). the 123d would have a gti for breakfast, its not much slower than a r32, 0-6 is a close run thing, its only after 60 where the r32 pulls away.once the 123d is tuned (ecu remap) it would be a little rocket ship. mpg aint bad either for 200bhp + motor

The one I drove had better throttle response compared to my 320d coupe I'd imagine down to the twin turbo set up, Agree on you points RE.. quieter and extra revs, better all round in fact. |
