Performance Exhaust FTW. It only sounds better with time. Love it - best mod on my car.

Only thing I wasn't crazy about the Magnaflow mufflers that were being used (#14815) is the fitment being longitudinal instead of horizontal as our factory muffler - and the very tight 90 bend that needed to be fit/welded to make it work. With your setup as in pics it looks as if they used a muffler that has the dual tip outlets angled - so that it also allows the muffler to be angled - making for a better weldment/fitment. I also like the Magnaflow tips much better then the PE tips Any chance you could post more pics of the pipe going into the back of your muffler? Was your system only the muffler - or was it also the midpipes? And if so, did the Magnaflow midpipes delete the resonator? Was this a custom system or is there a Magnaflow P/N?

Unfortunately, it has a resonator. No sound clip available on their site, would like to hear with & without a resonator

BMW dealer or muffler shop. Depending on how concerned you are about warranty: The dealer will cost more but may be worth it for the warranty

I'm not sure if from your description, the exhaust would be as loud as I would like it. Is this the same pipes that would fit on my 2006 325i?
Come back to us in a week and tell us how much sound you have gained!

I like mine but I would prefer more mid-range growl in accelerating (ok in decelerating). The sound is like too focused on the high RPM.
If my car would sound like a 128i, I would have left it stock.... for a lame reason, the 3-series 323/325/328 doesn't sound as good. |

Just about to pull the trigger and..... WTF? At first I was thinking maybe I was crazy, but I had it on my watch list.... $900 The only reason I was waiting was because I don't want the damn thing right now- the car is in the garage for the winter. My plan was to have it shipped right to the shop who was going to install it, but I didn't want to have it in their way for 6-8 weeks. Oh well- let us know what they say. I did see the MF on ebay for $691 (I think)- that was the cheapest I'd seen. That image above is not the correct system- the MF stock # is 16539 I believe. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT |
