I am modded for and running stage 1 very successfully, but tried stage 2 yesterday because I recently installed an intercooler and lost about 0.5 psi. So I tried stage 2 maps to compensate for the boost drop and I datalogged a peak boost of 14.9 psi at 5700 rpm. And that is at 75% UT......not the recommended 80% default for the stage 2 map, and with pressure drop effect from the VK intercooler. |

I'm watching my boost gauge which is always calibrated before going out to make runs.
For you its another case as you use IC and its expected to have boost decrease ...

With the Stg 1 maps, the default UT setting is 70%. This will yeild 13-14psi depending upon conditions.
With the Stg 2 maps, the default UT setting is 80%. This will yeild 14-15psi depending upon conditions. With the Stg 3 maps, the default UT setting is 90%. This will yeild 15-16psi depending upon conditions. Boost is 1 psi lower for me on the new map vs beta on standard settings (Stage 1). Still evaluating...4k transition seems better. Need the weekend to see for sure. |

Just got back from an aggressive canyon drive. Wow. Car really pulls from down low now. From about 3000 on up, there's just a good continual kick in the shorts. Love it!

So I should run Stage I map with Vishnu DCI & AA Intercooler in place correct? What about after adding RR catless midpipes & Bastuck Muffler? Should I run Stage II then? or Do I need Catless DP?

I find the new maps dissapointing in terms of performance...at least on my car.

Installed the new maps yesterday. Ran for 20 or so miles on the stage 1 map with 91 pump gas and it feels great. More of the same great improvements! I still can't believe how smooth these tunes have become. Ran the tank down to around 1/2 gallon and made a trip to the Andrade exit gas station on 680 to put in 10 gallons of 100 octane ($5.79 per gallon...ouch!) and loaded up the race gas map. Initial impressions (first second or two) were dissapointing until I hit 3,000 RPM. Wow! 70-80% throttle and the tires were slipping in both 1st and 2nd gears. I can't believe how quickly it rips through the 3-6k RPM range. I have a 6at so I don't have to worry about redline but if I was in a 6mt I think it'd take some time getting used to timing that shift. At WOT boost on the vishnu gauge was showing a pretty consistent 17.3 PSI between 4-6k RPM.
Overall the tune feels fantastic. While the race gas map is impressive, its not as smooth as the non-race map because of the huge kick at 3k RPM (plus its expensive). Great for the track, dyno, or every-once-in-a-while thing, but I'll stick with 91-94 octance gas and the non-race map for everyday. It's bad enough that the kid inside of me wants to race everything on the road with this one. Great job Shiv! |

I only have a drop-in, and so far the 2-19 map seems to be the best overall... I was hoping for more performance out of these maps

seriously ?? Try reloading the firmware and map.. just to be sure... I've driven most map versions of the procede over the last 2 years... and these new ones are by far the best !! In the past I'd had mediocre performance from one set of maps or two... and was wondering WTF.. reloaded my firmware.. fixed it... The original 'game changer' maps were a huge difference over the old ones (near the end of last year) .. and they have been getting slightly better since... I just loaded up the Stage 3 CANbus map.. (all mods but with high flow downpipes... if i were to really go hit the car hard somewhere i'd drop to stage 2 probably.. but mostly i just want it to be fast for 3-4 seconds here and there day to day.... ) .. and all i can say is BEASTLY !! |

I would have to agree also.
The 4-22 Canbus version is the best so far in terms of power, torque and smoothness. The timing curve looks great as well! But I know how these guys feel. When I tried a few of the JB3 1.3 beta chips, I was disappointed by the performance, while others were reporting glowing reviews. I never did figure out why I seemed to be the oddball. |

so i figured, i'd bump it up to 75%...and let me say, this map is definitely cool. not only does it feel faster than all the previous ones, the consistency is just simply remarkable. back to back 1-4gear runs with ~1min breaks(to turn around) yielded similar results and i dont have an oil cooler. compared to the 2-19maps the times are slightly quicker, nothing drastic, but quicker nonetheless. teri

The question now is if or not the auto-tune is going to optimize to the same level. This is definitely getting interesting. I think it would be best if its done so that you get max safe performace all the time. IMO its way better than than the one size fits all approach.

I'm seeing a max boost of 14.5 on the 4-22 stage 1 map (70%TQ - 90 degree weather). I was seeing 15 max boost on the 3-24 stage 1 map (91% TQ - 70 degree weather). Still can't tell if one is more aggresive than the other.

So are you implying the beta maps are actually stronger? Maybe Vishnu needs to clarify what people should be doing as there seems to be some confusion around this subject.

the beta version for me seemed a litle less stressed than the latest one on my car. Im not 100% sure my car likes this latest map. I also got a limp mode twice which is the very first time my procede has ever done that. temps are really high for my area (83 degrees) I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Another strange thing since I started running canbus sometimes it goes into valet and wont go back to map1 or 2 via remote until I restart the car. Boost never went high enough to warrant it going into valet. I have the regular setting for 4-22 map btw
