Has anyone fitted or got experience of the VRSF 5" intercooler? I have done a search on the forum but cant find any feedback on it.

Thanks

We just released the 5". We've sold quite a few 7" models and there's a few reviews available

These are scheduled to arrive in the next couple of days.

Is there a large difference between the 5" and 7" versions? Not tracking the car, just my DD on the street.

2"

The 5" doesn't require cutting whereas the 7" does. The pressure drop between the two is negligible and the 7" will outperform the 5" in the upper RPM range in the taller gears.

Tiago,

When you say outperform in the upper RPM range, you mean it will have more power than the 5" inter cooler or it wont heat soak as quick after couple of multiple runs?

The 7" won't make more more power, but it will allow for a cooler charge temp which will allow you to run more timing/ignition advance, which in turn makes more power. The intercooler directly affects the increase in power but it's not the sole reason the extra power is made, it just assists in making that power safely.

I have the 7" on order and saw this thread and was considering switching to the 5".... After some back and forth with Tiago, I decided to stick with the 7"

Tiago said the major benefit of the 5" is that there's no need to trim the shroud as part of the install. I've heard this isn't a lot of trimming anyway.... The 7" will have better cooling especially after multiple runs... The 5" is sufficient for cooling, but if it's hot the 7" will certainly perform better than the 5" over multiple runs.
