Suspension upgrades E92 325i

Hello all,

After watching M539 working on his E30 and fully revamping his suspension - I feel inspired. I'm thinking of starting the slow road to doing the exact same to mine. So I'd just like to get anyone's recommendations on suspension coil over kits? I am absolutely not looking to stiffen, just to improve existing as much as possible comfort without losing stiffness. TIA - any help appreciated.

Koni special active (used to be FSD) might be what you're after. Go with OE(M) arms/bushings, but use M3 where compatible. Throw in a set of BMW performance springs if you fancy going a bit more sporty ride...but then you might want to consider something a bit more controlled than the SA shocks too.

Just fitted the Bilstein B12 kit to my car. I already had the Eibach sorings fitted so just needed to add the B8 dampers.

The old shocks were shagged with only 80k on them. 3 of them had no rebound at all so a lot of the improvement I'm feeling could be attributed to that. I replaced all the mounts too and noticed that my front top mounts were rough, as a result my steering is smoother.

The suspension is less harsh, there's less body roll and also better traction. The total cost was about £800, I purchased the Bilstein B8 shocks and Lemforder mounts from Autodoc on one of their 40% off sales and got the rest of the replacement gaskets, spring pads and bolts from BMW.

You can find a list of parts using FCP:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...us-35120407kt1
That gives you an idea of what parts you can get OE and what you have to buy from BMW.

I’ve got the bilstein b12 kit and have spent the last 18 months or so replacing all my steering and suspension joints, bushes and bearings. The result is an old e92 with 161000 miles on the clock that drives like a nearly new car.
It’s cost way too much and taken way too much of my time but I love the way it drives now. Next step maybe is to M3 the suspension links that are compatible but for now I’m happy with the way it drives.

IMO you get what you pay for. If your car's a keeper and you can afford it, then Ohlins Road and Track are well worth considering...
